New York based DJ & producer, Francis Mercier aka Emvafaya, has utilised his vastly cultured and seasoned understanding of house music to produce and perform different facets of deep, melodic, and tech-house melded with afro, soul, and disco influences. His ‘Bolingo Nanga’ feat. Bibi Den’s Tshibayi track was one of the highlights on ABRACADABRA’s ‘Human Nature’ compilation album on initial release back in April of this year, and now gets a full single release, backed with remixes from two of the scene’s hottest tickets, Nico de Andrea and Nitefreak. Mercier explains more about the gestation of the song…

“On my last European Tour back in Feb 2020, I had a chance to meet some established African vocalists and musicians such as Magic System, Kanda Bongo Man, Amadou & Mariam, and others, one of which was Bibi Den’s Tshibayi who was at his prime in the late 80s. I always had an affinity for Bibi’s unique, and emotive tone, and upon meeting him in Paris at my performance at Radio FG we clicked and his positive energy impacted me on day one. He really loved my set and simply couldn’t stop dancing and requested that I sent him some beats.”

“As such, upon returning to the US, I sent Bibi the musical backing idea and without any surprise, I received his bone-chilling vocal stems. I immediately went to work, spending early mornings and late nights creating what can be heard right now. This being during prime Covid, the lockdown and the prevention of me performing as much as I normally would have been during this time allowed me to sit down and be remotely available to work with Bibi between New York City and Paris. This project being my first authentic afro house record, with a strong message of Love (which is what “Bolingo Nanga” means), has a deep-seated meaning for me, and will always remain the catalyst and inspiration to have me continue down this beautiful path of afro house music.”

Jansons' latest EP, "Studio Electronic", is a testament to his talent and expertise as a producer. Released on Future Disco's new label, Future Disco Dance Club, the EP features three new tracks in addition to the already popular "Feed The Night".

Kicking the EP off with a "Sugar", Jansons offers a sultry and smooth house number that is perfect for those late-night dance sessions. Featuring warped vocals, a cross-polination of synth structures and hypnotic beat that is sure to get dancefloors swaying, Janson's layers of instrumentation set the tone for an EP brimming with a unique sound at every turn. 

Next, you'll be pulled in by the steady beats of "11 Stereo." Adding in layers of vocal chops and percussion which gently build up to the drop, "11 Stereo is pure house heaven at home and in the club alike. 

It's title track, "Studio Electronic" continues to reiterate Jansons ability to create impeccably produced house music. With an abundance of high hats layered over funky guitar rifts, "Studio Electronic" is both catchy and danceable for those late night sets. 

Completing the EP with "Feed The Night." Janson rounds off with with perfectly timed breaks and builds that keep the energy high until the very end. Possibly the most disco leaning track of them all, Janson's blend of nods to the 70s and modern electronic music is everything you'd hope for from the producer. 

Throughout "Studio Electronic" EP, Jansons showcases his ability to seamlessly merge together various electronic elements to create a cohesive and danceable tracks. Wherever you're listening,  the EP is sure to get you in the mood to groove. Fans of Janson's previous releases on Knee Deep In Sound, Hot Creations, and 8bit will not be disappointed with this new offering, and newcomers to his sound will quickly become fans after hearing the infectious beats and grooves of this EP.

A multi-talented figure in the global house landscape, Amsterdam’s M-High has emerged from his ‘one to watch’ tips from a long list of key players in the industry. Up first, ‘Taste It’ merges acidic tones and sci-fi grooves that playfully dance over flickering stabs and lush, soulful vocals. Next, 'This ‘N That’ delivers thudding kicks and swirling sirens that lock you into its relentless breakbeat groove, while ‘Hello You’ harnesses an infectious bassline with assertive percussion and electro-tinged melodies. To close, ‘Search 4 Pleasure’ continues to bring the energy as sparking synths and robotic vocals go to work to shape up the EP in style.

SaSaSaS and Rampage have real history together. The D&B supergroup, made up of Skibadee, Harry Shotta, Shabba D, Stormin, DJ Phantasy and Macky Gee performed at the 2017 event and the live stream helped to catapult them to stardom. With 2,5 million views to date, the captation of their presence at the world’s biggest drum&bass and dubstep party brought them to the attention of the drum&bass world at large, and big festival stages as well as club hits, big streaming numbers and press attention quickly followed as a result. They were brought back in 2018 after the passing of Stormin, who the second appearance at Rampage was a celebration of and solidified their popularity with the cheering crowds.

The group had made a track for the Rampage compilation in 2017, featuring all four of the MCs on mic duties, and now that Macky Gee is performing solo at the upcoming 2019 event, it’s time to unleash the VIP. With both of the SaSaSaS producers at the controls, this one has surpassed the original, and the MCs have added bars that weren’t present in the first version. In short: they smashed it out of the park!
