This mix is by Nessim, and to say the least, a very impressive one. Through residencies on Bethlehem's Radio Alhara & Amsterdam's Echobox Radio, Nessim has cultivated sounds that lean towards the aqueous, percussive, and expansive sides of experimental electronics, breaks, jazz, and ambient.
This mix for Knekelhuis is an ode to experimental dance/electronic music scenes of the 1990s, from Illbient to IDM & breakbeat techno.

Knekelhuis # 100 - Nessim

Alex's live SUN-SET at The Sunseeker, Byron Bay washed the library with a perfectly honed evolution of picturesque downtempo, hazy, percussive Deep House.

Combining rich field recordings from Byron Bay's famed Wategos Beach, and hypnotic instrumentation ~ Alex's performance was warm and inviting. Percussive elements and powerful drum patterns sat amongst perfectly executed melodies and dusky atmospheres. Perfectly suited to the orange hues and purple hints of the sunset that evening.

Alex is purposeful with his approach, with every element completely additive to the last. Moments of organic evolution that disappear as quickly as they come into existence, peaking into a glowing embrace that will undoubtedly leave an impression.

For me personally this one is about spiritual growth and transformation. Breaking negative cycles, releasing old emotional baggage and leading to greater awareness and freedom.

This track is again built in combination of acoustic recordings, electronic soundscapes, deep bass lines and dance beats. In a moderately fast tempo, 115 bpm.
