Held in honour of Abdu'l-Baha (https://bit.ly/2XaAtvi), the 'Shelter for all Mankind Conference' was aimed at helping its participants draw closer to the Beloved Master, to walk in His footsteps, and to consider the impact He had on those privileged to cross His path and the world at large. Participants were then encouraged to reflect on their own reality, and then draw up systematic plans of action relating to things like fostering the devotional character of their community, and opportunities to serve the neighbourhoods and communities we live in.

Hello and welcome to the Baha’i Blogcast with me your host, Rainn Wilson.

In this episode I'm joined by Sovaida Ma'ani Ewing, the founder of 'The Center for Peace and Global Governance' and a person of many talents. She's the author of a number of books, has worked as a lawyer for 20 years, is a 7th generation Baha'i, and she's passionate about the role of women in society, issues around global governance, the environment, peace-building, and leadership. We discuss all of these topics and also look at ideas around Collective Security, the meaning of power, and she even shares some personal stories of her time growing up in the Holy Land. “Sketches” is a fully improvised solo piano album.  Several of the songs were completely improvised during the recording process for this album and several were inspired by my “Monday Morning Improvisations” series on YouTube.  This was a very challenging album project for me and it was a lot of fun improvising and writing songs on the fly for this album.  It was also fun to relearn some of the previous improvisations and let those evolve during recording.  I hope you enjoy the music on this album as it comes from my inner well of creativity and straight from the heart.  

My “Monday Morning Improvisations” series is a collection of improvs that are recorded “first try, first take”, where I record and release an improvisation on the spot every week.  The entire collection of “Monday Morning Improvisations” can be found on the Michele McLaughlin YouTube channel.
