Hot on the heels of their stunning album "Havana '58" and with fans worldwide clamoring for more we've been able to call upon a brilliant range of fantastic producers, DJs and artists. Sifting through the album's finest moments they worked their magic on selected tracks and reboot them into pure rhythmic bliss: "The Havana Remixes", a bright collection of Latin, House, Jazz, Funk & Soul with a thoroughly modern take on Dancefloor Jazz.
Starting with a stirring 60s Boogaloo hip-twist of "Muévelo Papi" from the mighty Club Des Belugas, followed by Geordie mate Smoove from Newcastle who turns “No Words” into a fusion of Jazz house and Breakbeat while Opolopo pulls "Dizzy's Bounce" deeeep into jazzy House. Both producer teams  Maestro&Vezzola and Chinchin's Zouzoulectric/Gardener Of Delight are giving a Special Disco-Latin-House-Funk treatment each to their individual interpretation of "Tropicana Flight" while Suonho from Italy rejams in his very own soulful mood and brings a more modern-soul-disco-funk for "No Words" while "Muévelo Papi" amps up the funk quotient with a touch of jazz and a latin twist. Finally we got an unexpected Nu-skool Brazilika-brukbeat from Positive Flow aka Jesse Reuben Wilson on "Elegguà" and solid Latin funky breaks from Jack&Jointz on the rolling "Rumba Fugaz".

All remixes are mastered by The Uncle and very special radio-edits of all remixes exclusively filled the beautiful 180g vinyl. Containing nine tracks, this 12" looks like a neat introduction for newcomers and a nice round up for long term Bahama Soul Club admirers. 
The full long versions will be released on CD and all Digital formats.

Bahama Soul Club’s 5th album draws deep inspiration from the multicultural verve of young worldy folk drawn to the Bohemian coasts of the most southwestern part of Europe, where hippiesque hedonism, infinite musical diversity, and offbeat enchanted lifestyles fuel the scene.
„From countless ideas and numerous demos over the past four years, we handpicked those few songs that shone the brightest. “2018 saw a single release 'Never Roam No More' featuring the legendary John Lee Hooker. 2019 'Aint Nobody's Business' featuring Billie Holiday hit the scene. Another real legend, Sister Wynona Carr is featured on 'Tears Run Down'. „Increasingly during production we became aware of the amazing complexity of local artists, talented individuals to be found performing all day and night in the bars and near the beaches. It would take more than a couple of albums to bring these troubadours together. So there are exciting ideas for the future!
For this album we began with just few, an eclectic mix, and we found our studio blessed with some serious vibes. Josephine Nightingale 'Mercy Me', 'Castelejo' and Taly Minkov-Louzeiro 'Troubles all be gone'. The ultimate track on the album 'Castelejo' is dear to our hearts and an homage to the late Vitor Hugo, featuring Rui Correia on accordeon and vocals by Cutty Wren and Hedvig Larsson. These artists are from the local neighborhood, quite literally across the lane. What a blessing, what a discovery! Last but not least … One of the most exciting voices in the Bahama Soul Club family so far ... an ongoing love, Cuban artist Arema Arega is somewhat a permanent feature and shows her talents in 'Mango' and 'Alma Sola'.
As if this weren't enough we're more than proud to announce two cool remixes from the masters of the scene: 
Mighty Club des Belugas and SMOOVE himself! Nuff said.

The Bahama Soul Club are a German-based group whose unique blend of soul, jazz, funk, blues, bossa nova, afro and Caribbean influences has firmly put them on the map of the black music scene as one of the most exciting contemporary outfits.

The band led by Oliver Belz started in 2005 under the former name of The Juju Orchestra. The first 45 double-sider was “Kind Of Latin Rhythm” / “Funky Nassau” released in 2006, which became a huge worldwide success, going straight to N.1 on the German Club Charts and staying there for more than 12 weeks. The following album “Bossa Nova Is Not A Crime” was released in 2007 with guest vocals from soul-jazz crooner Terry Callier, Carolyn Leonhart, from Steely Dan and the lovely Katia B from Sao Paulo, whose cut became a smash hit in the worldwide club jazz scene and again reached the official media control Jazz Charts #2.

In 2008 for legal reasons the band’s name was changed to Bahama Soul Club and their first album “Rhythm Is What Makes Jazz Jazz” was released, amazingly following up on the outstanding success of The Juju Orchestra. They definitely hit the mark once again with the incredible appearance of guests like french chanteuse Isabelle Antena from Nouvelle Vague and Mrs. Pat Appleton from DePhazz, with whom they also established a 9-piece live orchestra and played all the famous jazz festivals in Germany and many more elsewhere in Europe.

2010 marks the release of the second Bahama Soul Club album, “Bossa Nova Just Smells Funky” with guest singers Xantoné Blacq from Amy Winehouse Band, British shooting star John Turrell, Kojato and again Pat Appleton, just to name a few. It soon became the band’s biggest success with radio features on ALL german public radio stations and countless “CD of the month” / “Album of the year” features worldwide, along with many Chart entries. With this album BSC became one of the most important contemporary European Jazz projects and were finally invited to the big German Groove Festival in Sao Paulo/Brazil.

2013 sees the band release their third album, “The Cuban Tapes”, an exotic blend of Cuban rhythms and tropical flavors executed with the trademark Bahama Soul Club style. This full-length once again features a host of talented vocal guests such as Danay Suarez, Arema Arega & Telmary Diaz from the contemporary Cuban scene, 3 generations of american soul singers Bessie Smith, Spanky Wilson and Ruthie Foster, and Anna Luca from Club Des Belugas. With “The Cuban Tapes” there is no doubt Bahama Soul Club are officially claiming their rightful spot at the forefront of the club jazz scene  for many years to come!

The difference between BSC and other Nu-funk, Latin-Jazz,or Bossa projects? Bahama Soul Club is better! Simply put, it’s an original combination of afrolicious Bossa-Jazz with 60s Soul and 70s Funk. The positive vibes and contagious rhythms transcend boundaries, language and race, for a timeless sound that nobody can resist!
