It’s been a while since I uploaded music to my Soundcloud. Last weekend I played the opening set at Unfold XXXI and had so much fun - it is hard for me to put it into the words. 

Opening slots are so important - they are the seeds that enable events to flourish. They are the first contact - the welcome to the dance floor that sets the tone for what will follow. They are the first dance.

Merlina Maiello, aka Merlina, dió sus primeros pasos en la música  como raver de la escena underground, donde también organizó diversidad de eventos. Es en este circuito que comienza a interiorizarse con la música electrónica en distintos estilos del techno. Dedicando los últimos años a nutrirse como artista, formándose como DJ y actualmente como productora musical, donde continúa incorporando sonidos de distintos estilos, toma su principal influencia de artistas como Pfirter, Oscar Mulero, Setaoc Mass, Lady Machine, Tripeo, Michel Lauriola, entre otrxs. Manchester born and based DJ Model Citizen has been a regular face in the North West & beyond’s underground rave scene and has been rapidly making a name for himself up and down the UK.

Choosing to remain anonymous, he takes his listeners on a journey through different soundscapes, always letting his meticulous selections do the talking for him.

Generally choosing to start at lower tempos, and more stripped back tracks, he is a master at slowly feathering the tension upwards towards more percussive, groovy tracks until his fabled, almighty closings.
