Hot on the heels of his 9-track OWSLA-released EP, To a New Earth, LA funkstepper Kill Paris aka Corey Baker has lent his impeccable production chops to a new single, Falling In Love Again. The track, Baker's take on a sensual R&B jam features vocals from Marty Rod and Alma and electro that boldly stands in defiance of the build-up-to-the-drop mentality of today's EDM world. The track is due out via OWSLA on July 9th, and is part of Kill Paris's upcoming Fall 2013 EP, also on OWSLA. Baker will also be playing OWSLA's Tomorrow World stage this coming September in Atlanta.

An improvisation with the intention to set one of my favourite winter poems from german poet Vera Hewener to music:



Wintermärchen

Dort, wo sich das Licht trifft,
 auf dem Blauweiß der Zweige,
 auf dem Schneefeld,
 das Besucher nicht kennt,
 auf der Eiszone,
 die ein Gebirgsbach durchmisst,
 in den Kältenebeln des Morgens,
 schwindelt in meinen Augen
 das Märchen, das man Winter nennt.

 Es flüstern Kristalle,
 klirren Tannenzapfen,
 stöhnt Gebälk unter der Eistracht,
 eine Sinfonie aus Weiß.

Sigur Rós - Starálfur

A 1-minute instrumental demo of a track I composed on a hot summer day in Italy for a multi-composer KPM album entitled "Human Stories". 
The music is simple, open and, as someone said, meditative.

"Human Stories is an emotive, poignant soundtrack for our life journeys, past and present: it is the sound of sadness, hope, life and living. From determination, ambition and gentle positivity to sadness, tender sentiment and nostalgia, Human Stories gently depicts the moods of human life through a delicate balance of sparse piano and small, sensitive strings – of which piano-only and string-only versions are also available."

Human Stories was recorded by the UK's leading orchestral musicians at Abbey Road Studios, the most famous recording studio complex in the world.

PLEASE NOTE: 1* this is just a 1-minute, virtual instrument demo of the track, 
                      2* the title of the track in the album is "Forgotten Past".

This interpretation of the classic ghazal by Fayyaz Hashmi features Rohini Ravada on vocals and Shankar Tucker on keyboards, clarinet, and tabla.

This is one of my most favorite compositions of all time. Unfortunately I had to leave off the last verse in order to keep the time suitable for a YouTube video. I will release the full version with all verses as part of an album later on.

A music composition through which I'd like to convey feelings such as happiness about life, innocence, positivity and hope.

Oh, that is me in the picture. I was about 4/5 years old. I had an imaginary friend, my ride-on toy Thomas The Tank Engine. I was strongly convinced that it was alive. I used to take him everywhere with me, even set up a place for him at the table on a few occasions, try to feed him, give him something to drink. I still have a few clear memories of this. 
Please don't forget who you were as a child.

The penultimate Piece from this package of 8 I've been putting together, which collectively will be named : Numbers. Released a little later this year.

Across the recordings I've used different mic placements and combinations to try and aid what I had to say.. The mixes up on SC are where ever I feel settled.. to share, So it's always interesting to read your comments, thanks :)

I'd love to you meet Beth. Beth is 15 years old. I'd not met Beth until 24 hours ago.. but I'd over heard her practicing in her bedroom a couple of times when round her house teaching younger sis.. I thought I want to capture that voice!!

So Beth popped round yesterday, First I recorded her gtr, then she sang the vocal afterwards. Both captures were One take, no edits !! She just came and sang.. even full of cold.. 

Personally I think she sounds gorgeous & I wanted to share this talent with you.
