Hey everybody! We are really proud and happy to share this mix at the end of a big year that was 2022!

The year has felt like many years in many ways with the rollercoaster of challenges as well as highs.
Musically we were able to travel and build and expand our Meanwhile brand, and amongst that find new inspiration for the music we love.

Our intention is always to connect with the cosmic within us to be the bridge to manifest the sound that comes through us.

With that in mind, we wanted to bring forward a deep and introspective journey for this mix that reflected and resonated with our path as both artists and music lovers.

We really wanted to do something different; our intention and feeling was to create something timeless that listeners will want to keep coming back to… a listening experience more than a pure dancefloor set.
Most of our mixes these days being label owners and producers contain a lot of the freshest music we have access to which is always exciting, but for this we wanted more of a journey over a wider span of time and to present a flow that remains deep and reflective, with timeless tunes that fit no matter when or where they were written.

Of course there is some fresh stuff there from our labels and ourselves, as well as a few edits we have made especially for this mix.

We hope you all enjoy this journey; we poured our heart and soul into it and we are honoured to share this as the last 333 mix for the year that was 2022.

Selador was started by Dave Seaman and Steve Parry back in 2013 and has been at the forefront of club culture for the last decade, bringing its mantra of quality House and Techno and all shades in-between to clubbers and music fans around the globe. The label’s distinctive rabbit head logo has become a byword for genuine quality and consistency in a saturated marketplace - so it’s only fitting that fate has decreed that the birthday coincides with the Year of the Rabbit. Selador will present a selection of exciting releases befitting of this milestone, with an array of artists who’ve appeared on the label over the last decade being invited to collaborate on tracks together. It’s an impressive list which showcases the respect in which original Dave Seaman and Steve Parry are held. As per with Selador, it’s a truly international affair, with every continent represented. You can hear Steve & Dave play back to back live at Selador’s 10th Birthday party in London at Studio 338 on Easter Sunday April 9th alongside Hernan Cattaneo, Just Her and the Warm Up residents.

As one of the brightest talents in the electronic music scene, Henry Saiz has crafted a unique path in his musical career. Not following any trends and refusing to fall into any category with his trademark sound that combines influences from club music and a wide range of styles like 80 ́s pop or progressive rock to name a few, his constant growth across the globe enabled him to spread his art to new audiences. In his first days as a DJ, Saiz released almost exclusively with big labels "with a focus on melody and community", as he puts it: Renaissance, Global Underground and Bedrock. He then created his own label Natura Sonoris, and by 2011 he had multiple Essential New Tunes, DJ Mag's label of the year, as well as released his critically acclaimed Balance DJ compilation. All that then gave him awards like DJ Mag Spain's 2012 Best Live Act, Best Label and Best Compilation. With his debut album titled "Reality Is For Those Who Are Not Strong Enough To Confront Their Dreams" (2013), he became one of the first musicians to crowdsource some of the album’s sounds. It's part of Saiz's self-effacing approach to even this most serious of artistic endeavours: he humbly offers to be the host of an intense, ongoing conversation between fans. Today Saiz is in a very fertile stage of his career. Still wanting to get closer to the crowd, he's returned to his first love - live bands - with an electronic trio that, apart from his solo performances, he’s also regularly touring the world with. Main highlights of the live band concept were their Boiler Room debut back in 2015 where guys delivered absolutely outstanding performance full of soul, powerful grooves, seductive vocals and thrilling emotions showing their particular approach to house music; as well as the launch of a world-traveling audiovisual project through Kickstarter in 2016 that achieved a huge success. This effort of trying to examine the relationship between environment and sound was materialized with a release of a sophomore album ‘Human‘ and a film that is a combination of both documentary and fiction. Within the same time he’s also released a debut album under his Hal Incandenza alias, launched a new label project ‘Lost Worlds Records‘, curated the new Balance compilation to celebrate a 10 year anniversary of his label Natura Sonoris, started a new project under an alias H.Haze to explore new musical terrains as a singer-songwriter, released lots of EPs, singles and remixes on such labels as Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, Suara and his own Natura Sonoris to name a few, and kept company to all of his fans every single week ever since the beginning of the pandemic with his Youtube streaming show  ́At Home With Henry ́, while also hosting a show on Spanish National Radio ‘El Laberinto‘. All that while also constantly working on new music and a bunch of other side projects. He has performed and continues performing all over the globe. He has been part of festivals like Sonar, Glastonbury, Ultra, EXIT, Creamfields and Global Gathering among others and also iconic parties like Circoloco at DC10 Ibiza. Henry Saiz is one of the Spanish artists whose constant growth has enabled him to spread his music to new audiences and is, without doubt, one of the brightest talents on the global electronic music scene. Through his music, he tries to make the world feel more deeply. He’s an artist who wants more than just your ears – he wants your heart.

Redfreya b2b Rebecca Gough's set at Koko London during The Soundgarden event was a dynamic warm-up performance for Nick Warren that seamlessly blended together different styles of electronic dance music. The DJs utilized a variety of techniques to keep the audience engaged throughout the performance, including building up tension with extended breakdowns and then releasing it with uplifting melodies and driving basslines. The set featured a wide range of deep and nice melodies that had the crowd swaying to the beat.

Redfreya and Rebecca Gough's b2b set was a standout moment of The Soundgarden event, showcasing their exceptional skills as DJs and their ability to connect with their audience through music.

There aren’t many artists who’ve soundtracked the birth of dance music and are still leading its development more than two decades later. There are even less who have gifted both the club and pop scenes with unforgettable musical moments that get talked about in hushed tones years after their creation. Dave Seaman is one of a select few. 

It’s a commonality that everyone from clubbers at Creamfields, to the biggest recording artists on the planet share. Having devoted almost every weekend over the last 20 years to moving dancefloors from Ibiza to Iceland, Seaman has played the world’s most recognised festivals and clubs in more than 80 countries throughout his career, while still lending his production nous to the music industry’s A List. Along with crafting beats for Ms Minogue and Pet Shop Boys, everyone from David Bowie to New Order and U2 to Michael Jackson have received a Seaman re-rub.

Wind the clock back to when Seaman was eight years old and it’s difficult to imagine anyone wanting to devote their life to music quite as much as the Leeds-born lad. While others indulged in pipe dreams of becoming an English Premier League star or following Neil Armstrong into space, Seaman – much to his career councillor’s disapproval – knew he was destined for a life full of beats and rhythm. 
By the early ‘80s, the music obsessive was spinning records at his high school disco and earning his pocket money playing friends’ birthday parties. He knew how to talk-the-talk, too. In 1987 the still-amateur DJ and DMC member won a trip to New York to attend the New Music Seminar – the industry’s most important event at that time. The trip ultimately led him to land the editor’s role at Mixmag, a position he’d hold for the next three years as he shaped the magazine into being the undisputed clubber’s bible it is today. 

Seaman played his first bona-fide professional DJ gig at the legendary Shelley’s in Stoke in 1990, stroking vinyl alongside a couple of emerging talents by the name of Sasha and Laurent Garnier. Acid house was blooming and Seaman’s boundless enthusiasm and creative spirit was petrol in it’s tank. 

Teaming up with producer and friend Steve Anderson, the duo recorded as Brothers In Rhythm, birthing the seminal rave anthem ‘Such A Good Feeling’ which became a UK Top 20 hit, while also issuing the landmark ‘Mixmag Live Volume’ 1 with Carl Cox in 1991 – a release that stands as one of the first ever commercially available mix compilations. 

Seaman’s unrelenting desire to propel music at all levels saw him kickstart the Stress Records imprint through DMC, showcasing tunes by some of the finest talent in dance music for more than a decade. Artists including Sasha, Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed and Groove Armada’s Andy Cato all released smoking club cuts on the label, with many crediting it as acting as a global launching pad for their careers. He followed Stress with a decade at the helm of Audio Therapy where similar levels of success ensued proving his ability to spot & nurture talent time and time again. 

Today, Seaman’s passion to exhibit boundary-breaking talent is as strong as ever. Via the independent record label Selador Recordings which he co owns with long time friend, Steve Parry, his inspired A&R has helped nurture some of the finest groove-merchants in dance music. The label’s roster speaks for itself, with Cristoph, Nicolas Masseyeff, Kiko, Kevin Over, Dubspeeka, Habischman, D Nox & Beckers, Quivver, Kiki, Gorge and Robert Babicz all contributing tracks and remixes recently.

There are few producers in the Progressive House world who command more respect than our guest DJ today, and there's no one as happy as us when we introduce him to you. Il Modo, give it up for the amazing Gab Oliver!

“You just had to be there” is an oft-repeated refrain whenever the “Melbourne sound” – the dark, stripped-down, and gritty progressive house and breakbeat that dominated the city’s dancefloors in the early 2000's – comes up in conversation. 

Gab Oliver created and nurtured a sound that eschewed the big, bold, brash sounds of the late 90’s in favour of a deeper, darker, and more hypnotic aesthetic. In the process he shaped an entire movement that cemented Australia as a creative force in the global dance music scene, and led to the rapid maturity of Progressive house and Breakbeat. 

The legendary party 'Sunny' was the key Melbourne monthly event where punters could regularly hear these new sounds, thanks to the resident DJs being given free reign to experiment musically and the party having a strong emphasis on going against the grain. Without question, the driving force behind the uncompromising deep and dark focus of the event was Gab Oliver.

 “Road testing our tunes at Sunny was the biggest gift of all. That’s all that really mattered, people going off to our music, that was fucking amazing.” The pioneer of the deep and hypotonic sound has recently re-launched the much loved Zero Tolerance label which has given the current Progressive House landscape a shakeup from the mainstream, pointing towards a deeper, darker, and more moody aesthetic. He recently released "Drowning" EP on this label and has also joined forces with Bassiray & Mckeown under the guise "Depth Institute".  

Moody soundscapes, mediated by underlying tension and bathed in darkness, Depth Institute‘s haunted and sophisticated late-night progressive storytelling is uncompromising in every sense of the word. Their debut Remix on Gab's ‘Drowning EP‘ which focused on subtlety and deep textures representing the true ZT sound brilliantly. 

Their follow-up release was a remix of Hot TuneiK‘s ‘Poema‘, a track heavily supported by John Digweed on his recent tour of Argentina, on his Transitions Radio show, and peaked at #2 on the Beatport Top 100 Progressive House Releases Chart.

"I want the relaunched Zero Tolerance to be like it was back when we started it, a place for new artists to make music other people aren’t making. I’ve always had a passion for new music and supporting emerging artists, and I would love to see a new generation of producers given the kinds of opportunities we weren’t by other labels when we started out.
