We're premiereing the excellent Red Snapper remix of Mali's Songhoy Blues new single; Irganda on Transgressive Records.

Hailing from the town of Gao in north-eastern Mali, Songhoy Blues came together in Bamako naming themselves in celebration of their displaced Songhoy people and culture.  A fixture on the Bamako club and bar live music treadmill, their break came in September 2013 when French music manager Marc-Antoine Moreau was in the city to scout for musical talent on behalf of Africa Express.  The band were invited to record a song with Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the track, Soubour, ended up as a stand-out track on the Africa Express album, Maison des Jeunes. 

Having already supported Damon Albarn at the Royal Albert Hall and played a short run of European dates with Julian Casablancas & The Voidz before Christmas, they recently announced details of their first UK tour.  Their show at Oslo in Hackney has already sold out and they've just put another London date show on sale in May at the Village Underground.

Red Snapper on remix duties are back producing some of their most vital and on point music for over a decade. This continues in their signature drum heavy style, slowing the original track down somewhat whilst retaining the ebb and flow of it.

Irish-born mystic Peter Power finds a suitable home on the record label / psychedelic familia that is Multi Culti.

Mr. Power made a name for himself in Berlin as resident and booker at Kleine Reise and subsequently Loftus Hall. Out of this flowered Kleine Reise Records, the initial portal for his manifestations, and a network of connections that have made him a cult DJs DJ. After a wholesome 5 years in Berlin, and with the jungle in his sights, he continued his journey to Brazil, where he currently drifts within the chaotic harmony of Voodoohop, home to Multi Culti mainstay Thomash, who offers up a fantastic remix here in support. 

Jungles of Ufordia presents a trip into an experimental universe, into the dark realm of sacred light, an esoteric space between familiar realities, the place of paradox and cosmic birth. Put that in your pipe and smoke in it.
