Cómeme delivers to you one of the freshest rhythms of 2018, recorded in Johannesburg, the new residency for the renegades of the beat. This is “Rain” – starring Matias Aguayo and the actress, dj and singer Ayanda Seoka aka Mujaji The Rain. She’s resident at the legendary Bar Kitchener’s all femme “Pussy Party”, a space for feminist / queer action and dancefloor joy, right in the centre of Joburg.
Cómeme has been since some time in a serious and passionate relationship with that city. Radio Cómeme transmitted shows from there with electronica legend Felix Laband, Mpumelelo Mkatha from BLK JKS, the queer performance duo Faka, Gqom pioneers RudeBoyz and also Kwaito’s legacy keeper Spleef McZaul. Matias Aguayo ventured into a beautiful collaboration with DJ Spoko, released two years ago on this label.
“Rain” is a deeply rhythmical track, inspired by the grooves that converged when Cómeme swing crossed the paths with the syncopations people in Joburg were dancing to. It has become quite clear in the recent years that elegantly shuffled triplets are marking a way to the future in dance music, especially in the southern hemisphere, no matter if you’re in Durban, Rio or Santiago.
On top of this modern groove we can hear Mujaji the Rain enjoying how she gets wet under a dark and tropical sky. Laughter, joy and ecstasy is what she emanates while hypnotically involving you into this atmosphere of dense drumming and trance. (side note: Cómeme has been consequently< evading the description hypnotical in press releases but this time it was unavoidable).

For further jacking fun we generously included a “Club Mix”, including more drum frenzy towards the second half of the track, and a “Just Drums Mix” for the skilful DJ.

Side B features the jam “Serious”, which comes along with another killer beat, reminiscent of Michael Jackson or Cheri. A late-night track in which Mujaji The Rain turns into a sensual but slightly annoying creature that doesn’t want to leave the dancefloor. and for sure doesn’t want to go home.

After the latest Twoonky release, Macadam Mambo welcomes another Italian artist on the label : Steve Pepe. 
Behind his first release « Danza Moderna » on Hivern disc last year and few apparences before, Manuel Cascone (his real name) seems pretty new in the modern electronic scene, but don’t worry, he is not falling from Mars and has been part of several bands in Roma before, which made his experience in New Wave, Pop, Abstract, Experimental sounds very diverse. And it’s maybe why what he presents today on this 2xLP has such a singular approach in mixing genres and styles with high inspiration. It’s tribal, mental, powerful, full of percussions, flutes, voices and weird electronic sounds, everything in a very cinematographic form to bring us in the most dramaturgical trip.
Be certain that 2020 will definitely be the year of the revelation for Steve Pepe!

A unique, genre-defying and ever-changing approach to dance music has won him many admirers with our crew at the forefront and this LAYER is the perfect example of his versatility. We’re super happy to have him at our Christmas party this year and hope to see you there!

Ruaidhri, Stewart and Fergus are not only the world's best Scottish boy band, they also run the ever fantastic 12th Isle label, which has released an array of incredible music by the kinds of RAMZi, D.K. and Lo Kindre as well as a great debut album by the two mysterious Russians Dices and AEM Rhythm Cascade. 

Hailing from Glasgow, 12th Isle recycles aspects of Scottish mythology, as the trio create an aura of mystical science-fiction swamp utopias around their releases - communicated visually with the help of artist Al White, or in text by the best promo texter to probably have ever graced this earth (who wishes to remain anonymous). 

When Ru, Stew and Fergus (who some may know better as "evil" Ferg) play together on the other hand, their different perspectives and incredible knowledge really comes out in the most unpretentious and admirable fashion imaginable. So, we're very happy to have them all together onboard for this mix series, with this extended mix recorded live at the infamous RubaDub, meandering through everything from Ambient to Dub, Disco, Folk, New Age, House and Trance.

What is in the Museum of No Art? Not paintings, but visions. Not sculptures, but empty spaces full of potential. It is within this inverted gallery that Mona Steinwidder traces fabulous forms with synthesizer, clarinet and effects. Under the moniker Museum Of No Art, she has created an album that floats in a hazy lacuna between realities, rooted in propulsive and deep bass resonance, but also footloose, playfully deconstructing language and mixing in layers of echoing synthetic and organic tones. The fascinating result of these unfettered experiments resonate as an imaginary cadavre-exquis played by DJ Screw, Arthur Russell, MJ Lallo, Poppy Nogood, and Laurie Anderson.
With a background in fine art and music, over the years Steinwidder has created and released music under the pseudonym Mohna, as part of the experimental pop band Me Succeeds, and collaborates with composer Alexander Schubert and electronic dance music producer Christian Löffler. Recently, shifting her focus more on improvisation and experimental music, she moved to Vienna for six months to concentrate on experimenting with synthesizers, samplers and voice. Her intention was to build a “playground” that would leave space for improvisation and allow for a meditative and intuitive process. This solo exploration allowed her to return home with a new way to play.
“I like this idea of an open and light structure that can grow and transform and leaves space in all directions. Something without a clear beginning and ending. A rough, short note. Today I’m in the mood to sing, but tomorrow I might be in the mood to just float on an ocean of synths or to play a solo on my clarinet. I am a never-ending process and I am many. The Museum Of No Art album is a collection of days and moods, images and circumstances experienced and immediately recorded in the last year.” - MONA

She walked along the paths of the garden, giving soft touches to flowers and leaves...The flight of her thoughts was somewhere at many light-years from Earth...Step by step moved her away from her usual route, and now, already completely unfamiliar trees and shrubs began to cling to her with their branches, returning to the present moment...It was unusual, cause it seemed that she knew every inch of this place, but, excessive self-confidence, sometimes suggests in her interpretation of events...
Despite the fact that the day was hot, a feeling of something cold ran through the chest...Suddenly, she saw that someone was sitting under one of the trees...Coming closer, she became aware that this is a figure of a man hiding in the shadows...His eyes were closed, but it seemed that he knew that they would meet...Approaching, she carefully asked:

- Sorry to interrupt your unity with nature, but I found myself in a rather unusual situation for myself...I got lost...Can you tell me where is way out?

Slowly opening his eyes, he gestured for her to sit down...Without saying a word, obeying some of the many types of the magic of human charisma, she sank to the ground opposite...Eye contact...The stranger smiled and said...

- I want to show you the Book of Life - on its pages are contain the secrets of the soul...

Where it came from was not clear, cause his hands had just been joined in sacral mudras...Seems like it was several hours that they sat studying these pages, listening to the scent of magic fruits...The sun gradually hid behind the crowns, allowing the crescent of the moon to begin its manifestation...Sensing the changes in space, they rose...

Approaching a thousand-year-old oak tree, part of the roots of which, intertwining and whirling, created spirals, passing through which, she saw many symbols - some were carved directly on the tree, others were painted with paint of unknown colors...She read:
