- BIO -
Dirge is the Twilight Psytrance project of Melbourne born Mike O'Shard.

For 11 years he has spread a strange and sinister signal across Australian dance floors - a dark broadcast transmitted by shadow; a message sent by the frequency of night.

Mike managed the Ascension Stage at Esoteric Festival in Australia between 2017 - 2024, and currently represents MMD Records from Cape Town, South Africa as a label DJ.


- CONCEPT -
A 'Dirge' is defined as a lament for the dead; as a mournful song, piece of music or sound. 

Almost a decade ago in the moonlit forest of Mount Disappointment, a strange message was received. The message began as a barely perceptible hum underneath the noise of the local broadcast network, and was transmitted with one purpose - to corrupt the mind of a local human target and spread.. relentlessly. 

Within the darker reaches of its human host body's imagination, this message would bide its time and grow as a quiet voice in the darkness - as a ghost in the machine - until one day, it would be noticed.

On the surface, all was normal. It was a day like any other, until a disruption was felt within the network. The disruption was felt as a slight shimmer; a most subtle shift in the pitch of the broadcast's frequency.

For one small moment, the broadcast faltered, and faded. A team was deployed to investigate. 

Investigating the disruption, the message was discovered and identified as virulent. It had grown in such great measure over time that the network's signal, once thought to be untouchable, had been hijacked entirely. The broadcast signal was now a distorted and ghostly shadow of its former self. 

The report made by the team investigating the anomaly concluded that the disruption had not been felt within the original network; there was nothing of that network left. The disruption had been felt at the very moment that the last remainders of the original network were extinguished.

No-one had noticed the message spread, nor detected the signal's growth. No-one had heard it whisper as it redirected every connection on the network's server. No-one had heard its screams of contempt and rage as it ceaselessly multiplied itself in the background. 

In the final moments of transmission, a new message was received - one word uttered in an unfamiliar tongue, in an endlessly repeating loop - "Dirge..."

Founder and owner of Australian night time & twilight style psytrance label Replicant Records, Richard Sloane aka Glacial has been playing his brand of twilight, night time and daytime oriented psytrance throughout Australia, Portugal and South Africa for the past 20 years.

Starting out organizing numerous parties as one half of the Sonic Circus production crew, Glacial has has supported a who's who of the psytrance scene over the years and played at countless parties over a 20 year career. His sets range from driving daytime psytrance to twilight fullon, through to in your face nightpsy aimed squarely at the depths of the night time floor, adapting to the slot is a big focus without ever losing the driving style for which he's become known for.

Paraform is Martin Roast, once well known around the melbourne psytrance scene for his live sets. Also founder of melbourne record label “Silent Partner”
Had been exposed to a lots of different music from a very early age, his life was nothing short of a full time musical journey. growning up on a mix of psychedelic rock and classical, followed by hiphop, rnb and house music as a teenager. He started making music when he was 16 using an old amiga computer, records, a tascam multi track recorder and a sampler he had to make from scratch. he spent 2 years refining his ability to make hiphop beats using this system. at the age of 18 he formed a duo called “Subliminal Terrorists” which was a mend between punk, rock, and electronic. As he continued to hone his skill he learnt how to make many sytles of electronic music. After much experimentation, a few tracks being on the community radio and a few small gigs, in 2001 Martin found psytrance to be what he wanted to make. Playing his first ever psytrance Dj sets in 2002 as “brain animal”, in 2003 he played at his first outdoor party, which was rainbow serpant festival, on the bigredbus stage. In 2006 formed another duo called “Dream Katcher” befor going solo as “Paraform” in 2008. Having played along side the likes of, Broken Toy, Head Room, Space Tribe, Zen Mechanics, Highko, Cosmo, to name a few. In 2008 he started Silent Partner Crew, Which has run and helped run many indoor and outdoor events. 


ThatMob is Martins newer project experimenting with progressive and psygressive styles of psytrance.

Been producing for a little over 6 years now & Dj'n for around 8 years.
It has always been a passion of mine to create. It will be different to most of the Psychedelic music your used to. I try to provide depth & a sense of journey or story to my tunes. Yes, there a little different just like myself hense the name TABOO!
