Glove Compartment is the piano laden solo project from 'The Candle Thieves' keyboard wiz Ant Shiels.

Sheringham based Glove Compartment make pocket symphonies centered around the intricacies of Ant's piano playing blended with dry wit & brutal lyricism. The band name was born from Ant's habit of recording home demos onto CDRs & housing them in the glove box of his dusty hatchback for reference and safe keeping.

The musical sound evokes nostalgia of the great writers of the last generation. Growing up with Billy Joel, Randy Newman, Elton John and Ben Folds Five playing on his walkman evidently left a musical scar.

Debut release 'The Art Of Pretending' came out in 2019 which saw Ant become a success story in China clocking up 3.1 million streams which led to a tour of mainland China.
The album 'Shall We Draw Big Love Hearts' was released during the 2020 lockdown. 

New single (Out Feb 14th) is a reimagination of the 1985 hit single The Power Of Love by Huey Lewis & The News.
