[Snippets] SAUDEDITS #3 ~ French oddities 1985-87

*FREE DOWNLOAD* - Remix by Dublin-based Dj Podge, resident at The Kitchen nightclub, and U2's personal dj at the time. This mix was exclusively on the CD version of the release. 

Tropea was my first ever release, back in 2002 on Offshoot Records, a division of Dublin-based Psychonavigation Records. It came out on CD, plus 12" (12" Mix of Tropea and Phunky Dub only), and made it to number 1 in the Dublin dance charts. It has been played nationally in the UK (BBC Radio 1) and Ireland (2FM), was playlisted on every commercial radio station in Ireland, and it's accompanying music video was played on 3 tv stations in Ireland (RTE2, TV3 & TG4). It was even featured as the breakthrough track on the Top 30 Hits! It got a mixed response from the crew on 2FM's firing squad, who preferred the b-side (Phunky Dub) to the original. The legendary Liffey Discs in Dublin sold hundreds of copies of the vinyl and cd in the first week alone. The label had to re-press new vinyl the following week! It was an exciting and enjoyable experience.
