UK based producer Hugo Massien has been slowly but surely making a name for himself over the past few years with "Metamorphosis" marks Hugo’s debut LP on the E-Beamz Record label.

We premiere fittingly titled 'Outer Space Jam'; an outer orbit breasky stomper, driven by a heavily oscillating lead bass line, with brief interludes of soaring padwork. One to bookmark for those future forthcoming peak-time moments. The EP as a whole is one to behold, sporting a real range of textures and flavours - providing a real journey through Hugo's sonic palette.

Since 2014 Stones Taro has been delivering his own take on the UK sound, heavily influenced by rave, jungle, garage and breakbeat. Now the Kyoto, Japan based artist makes his Cheeky Music Group debut with four intricately laced cuts on August 20th, continuing to break the mould and recontextualize his own sonic palette. 


‘Again’ opens proceedings with deep wobbling bass that finds its way from your ears and down to your toes, coupled with dub style chords and vibey vocal loops, to help keep the steppers moving to the early hours. ‘Come Over Me’ picks up where ‘Again’ left off with glossy lipped vocals and oscillating snare drums, resulting in a track perfect for warming up the dance floor. 


Glistening synths sparkle just above choppy breaks and spacious bass in ‘Yakusugi’ - as it’s ethereal sensibility adds a different dynamic altogether to Stones Taro’s ever evolving sonic armour. Every sound in closing track ‘Rare’ is carefully placed and nuanced; as one tone reflects off the next in auditory delight - suited for those late-night dwellers.

Banoffee Pies Original series continues with a long overdue welcome to the label for Xades (pronounced shades), the Berlin based Artist, Producer, Vocalist, already known under her DJ moniker MSJY. The Femme Bass Mafia co-founder operating for the last 8 years across Europe, with a previous residency at Amsterdam’s De School Club, and further affiliations with the likes of Dekmantel and OOST. As Jenny’s career and musical output continues to flourish, the Xades project sets the foundations as a space for measured sonic reflection, and acts as a portal to connect  to their surroundings under a lens of sensitivity.

Original production “Qlu” gives us a taste of the dynamic, sharp and playful spectrum of sounds that culminate in a uniquely euphoric composition with the perfect touch of dub tinged electronica.

Two remixes take opposing directions, with an intricately chaptered bass weight twist from sound design enthusiast /  Body Verse founder Kate Miller, and a hybrid rhythmic club cut from recently affiliated label signing Syz. BPR x
