Rob Garza - Out of Body Workshop Mix

Manchester (UK) based Mazayr has always felt a deep connection to music. Experimenting with electronic music for well over a decade, his passion for creativity stems from much earlier as a keen drummer in his youth. This love for rhythm naturally translated to dance music and birthed a tireless focus on finding his own sound as a music producer. Mazayr’s sound has arrived at a blend of emotional, uplifting and melancholic melodies, intertwined with punchy, solid grooves. Influences come from an eclectic mix of genres and as an artist his tracks are built to stand the test of time. His style has earned him debuts on labels such as The Purr, Cigarette Music and Canopy Sounds, with more exciting projects already in the pipeline. As a DJ, Mazayr has frequented various venues across Manchester, including Pangaea Festival and the infamous Sankeys nightclub. In 2019, he began hosting events and a mix series under the Right Frequency banner to showcase melodic house music.

The mysterious Leipzig based duo JAJA released one of favourite albums of 2016 (Tropical Bird Club) on ynfnd (you need friends not discs) and we have been waiting to release something from them on Shika Shika ever since! 

For this Botanas, JAJA serve us up two humid, organic tracks seeped in dark green vegetation and marked by screeching birds from the canopy and mysterious voices from the forest floor. One for the deep groove.

 Here is the recording of my very first sunrise set at Burning Man 2018 in the Black Rock Desert. I started playing around 5:45 am, the lights and lasers were still glowing in the cold darkness of the night..as the songs were passing by, the sky turned blue and the horizon warmer. Burners were all facing the deep playa, waiting for the sun to appear. It was an honour to soundtrack this moment and share music in such a magical place. No matter how hard I try, words can barely describe the energy and emotions felt in that instant... I hope music can express it better. 

I'd like to thank Maxa Camp & The Gardens of Babylon for inviting me to play on this beautiful Xaman Art Car...the mystical blue deer.   I’m very grateful to have shared this moment with so many incredible souls, old and new friends.

From the depths of Burning Man to Coachella, Colombia, Vancouver, China, Peru or spinning at the Latin Grammys, this Baja born DJ posses a luscious taste in music and a unique style in building deep, powerful and unforgettable sets that brings a specific audience together, to experience a musical journey that hypnotize and triggers different emotions while being capable of warping you into a musical state of pure bliss.

Massiosare has been pushing the envelope and uniting the underground pacific coast scene throughout his carrier since 2006, promoting major events in the region as former Co-Producer of Genius Loci Fest and for the regional Venice After-Burn experience. Alongside with his talented team, he has an exclusive residency in LA’s most intimate venue for underground house music, Pattern Bar. Eyal Ariel aka SHIKU is back on Camel Riders with 'Outdirt' EP, which includes 2 originals and 2 remixes. The 1st original by SHIKU is' Tekes Atik' which means 'Ancient Ceremony'. As the name suggests, this track blends spiritual and addictive rhythms with organic elements and obscure electronics, seasoned with elegant cosmic sounds. 2nd is the EP theme track 'Oudirt', which takes the listener to a deep psychedelic state, with its pleasurable acid strikes and delicious bass, accompanied by a charming and melancholic organic melody. Follow up next, The Portuguese duo Luis & Maria aka Ohxalá crafted an intelligent and powerful remix for 'Tekes Atik', which manages to preserve the original's obscure and deep sensations, yet with a different perspective with its edgy & spiral melodies.
Concluding the EP, we have the Dresden based producer - Kerstin Beck aka Barbarella, which assembled a delightful downtempo earthy & meditative remix for the EP theme track, with lots of acid splashes and deep round bass.

Eu comecei esse edit depois de passar um mês na Bahia de dez/2019 a jan/2020, quando fui para lá tocar no Universo Parallelo 20 anos. Ao voltar daquela terra maravilhosa senti que deveria fazer um edit em homenagem a esse lugar tão espetacular que temos a honra e a sorte de pertencer ao nosso querido país. Curiosamente, eu não tive trabalho em ter que escolher esta música. Não somente porque há muitas canções homenageando este maravilhoso Estado, mas porque eu já tinha essa música em um projeto no Ableton e acabei cruzando com ela sem querer. É muito comum eu pegar músicas que me chamam a atenção e colocar em um projeto no Ableton. Há muitas delas e grande maioria eu nunca vou terminar (ou nem começar direito rsrs). 

Mateus Aleluia pertenceu à formação original do grupo Os Tincoãs e dispensa apresentações. Os seus dois álbuns solo são completamente fantásticos!! Esta música é do álbum Fogueira Doce (2017) e é extremamente bela. Representa perfeitamente o lindo sentimento que esta terra desperta em nossos corações e as emoções que eu queria transmitir após esse período incrível que passei por lá. Eu coloquei um leve toque de psicodelia, aquele grave mais brabo e deixei mais devagar que a versão original. Espero que gostem!!!

I started this edit after spending a month in Bahia from Dec / 2019 to Jan / 2020, when I went there to play at Universo Parallelo 20th year edition. When I returned of this wonderful land, I felt that I should do an edit track in honor of this spectacular place that we are honored and lucky to belong to our beloved country. Interestingly, I had no trouble choosing this song. Not only because there are a lot of songs honoring this wonderful state, but because I already had this song on a project at Ableton and I ended up coming across it unintentionally. It is very common for me to take songs that catch my attention and put them on a project on Ableton. There are many of them and the vast majority I will never finish (or even start it lol). 

Mateus Aleluia belonged to the original formation of the group “Os Tincoãs” and needs no introduction. His two solo albums are completely fantastic !! This song is from the Fogueira Doce (2017) album and is extremely beautiful. It perfectly represents the beautiful feeling that this land awakens in our hearts and the emotions that I wanted to transmit after this incredible period that I spent there. I put a light touch of psychedelia, some stronger bass and left it slower than the original version. Hope you like it !!!

Elok Teja Suminar, was born on a small island, Madura in Indonesia. Started writing poetry and short stories since was a child. Currently, she has published novels, many anthology with other writers in Indonesia, And just published a collection of short stories. Elok also arranges many of her own poems into songs. now with her husband who is also poet and flute maker, Robi Akbar, owner of Juang Flutes. They support each other to continue producing artwork.
