Before the Brave emerged from a strangely quiet San Francisco music scene in 2012 with unexpected acclaim behind their first release, a 5 song EP entitled Great Spirit. As the quintet expanded their humble fanbase with consistent local headliners, Noise Pop festival appearances, and a series of west coast tours, a handful of lineup changes led to significant stylistic shifts in their sonic identity. Over the next few years the collective took a decisive step into the unknown, leaving their folk-americana roots for a larger, more ambitious alternative rock sound that draws on the likes of classics Fleetwood Mac as well as contemporaries The Head and the Heart and The Alabama Shakes. And the risk paid off.

The band, now composed of original members vocalist/guitarist Jason Stevens, drummer Kyle Teese, and vocalist/keyboardist Beth Garber, along with newcomers Ryan Devisser on guitar and Miguel Castuera on bass, displayed newly cultivated songwriting capabilities that landed 2014's single "Free" in a handful of television placements and widespread circulation on indie music blogs. The upcoming year marked a new season for Before the Brave, as the band entered the studio with California producer-engineer Andy Freeman (Eisley), looking to capture their unique and substantive sound and color on a full-length record. 

With a number of new tracks already debuted live, the band's unreleased material has set expectations high -- their most lyrically honest, instrumentally rich, and conceptually developed work to date. 

On the outfit's steady progression towards their current place as a household name in the musical landscape of San Francisco, Nic Buron of The Bay Bridged aptly observed: "In a city where it often feels like 'too cool' rules, their genuineness is a fresh gulp of oxygen." 

Before the Brave's LP is slated to be released independently in fall of 2016, followed by an expanded winter and spring touring schedule. 


Barb Rocks is recognized for putting on highly-organized and well-attended shows at reputable venues in the San Jose Bay Area, as well as band management and artist development.  Barb Rocks Presents focuses mainly on all types of rock music, from indie to punk to progressive to metal, but is open to music of all genres. Each show is carefully organized for cohesion between the bands, so that the music compliments each other and audiences get to experience a unforgettable night of entertainment that flows together. Many local favorites will only work with Barb Rocks, as their experiences with her surpass others in quality, communication, and compensation.

Northern Nights Music Festival is a 3-day celebration of music, art, food and local culture. Our 8th Anniversary will take place on Cook’s Valley Campground and County Line Ranch on July 19th – July 21st 2024, on the Mendocino/Humboldt County Line

Our mission: to produce an annual event based on a strong understanding & ever passionate support system of emerging underground music industries – featuring sought out producers & DJs, both regionally and from around the globe.

All taking place within the surroundings of California’s Redwood Forest sanctuary: a setting of unparalleled beauty that will highlight both the venue’s and community’s rich festival history & enchant the individual senses of all those in attendance.

EFFECTRIC and formerly Club Miró Boss, The End London resident (2007) & Bar25 regular EFFECT started DJing with 13 years old.
His deep and futuristic trademark sound has gained him europewide recognition.
He is the maker and Resident of the highly successful "EFFECTRIC" nights at the alps major Underground Venue Miró (managed by himself) and castles in and surrounding Bozen. Miró, formerly a commercial nights venue, has been transformed in the last 6 years to the place worlds top underground dj´s play at. It is a old vinery in the heart of the city offering 3 dance floors, 13 different rooms/areas, 3 bars and is one of the most beautiful venues of north Italy.
EFFECTRIC hostet artists like Tobi Neumann (Cocoon), Guido Schneider (Pokerflat/Motiv/Cadenza), André Galluzzi (Cocoon), Tiefschwarz (Souvenir), Red Robin (Trapez/Bar25 Berlin), Lauhaus (Intacto/Remote area), Lee Jones (Watergate), James What (Poker Flat/Crosstown Rebels), Jeremy P. His sound is pushing the boundaries of house and techno, always taking things a step further and higher, never stading still on genres or movements.
In 2000 EFFECT started producing and his track Brainline has been played in europes top Clubs by Artists like Red Robin amongst others. His new track "Space Runner" is out now on Doma at Beatport.
His growing reputation has earned him worldwide performances including europes top afterhours, festivals and clubs like his regular sets at Bar25, Arena Club Berlin and Club der Visionäre in Berlin, to his formerly Residency at London´s most famous afterhour "Jaded at THE END" in 2007, City Hall and East Ender Festival (Sonar) in Barcelona, Viennas major venue Pratersauna, Portugals Superclub Pedra do Couto, Rave on Snow Festival in Austria, Thaibreak in Bangkok/Kho Phangan and the Secret Island Festival in Sweden.
