Marleen Briggen, Pierre Koolen, Theo de Jong, Arno Strijbosch, Arno van de Kerkhof en Rene Ziedses des Plantes zijn muzikanten "pur sang" die de enorme lol die je aan muziek kunt beleven steeds weten uit te stralen. Na de nodige omzwervingen door klassiek, jazz, pop, folk, en zelfs cabaret vonden deze muzikale nomaden dat plezier vooral in hun sextet Gipsy Mood, oftewel gewoon koffer open, instrument uitpakken, even luisteren naar elkaar, en dan spelen maar. Zolang het kampvuur brandt, het eten smoort, de drank vloeit, de dans kronkelt en de romanticus blijft wenen van geluk. De leden van Gipsy Mood spelen met de traditionele zigeunermuziek uit Oost-Europa en weten daarnaast een gevarieerd repertoire sfeervol te kruiden met Spaans, Kaap- verdisch en Zuid-Amerikaans temperament of de weemoed van Portugese fado's. Vrolijke en melancholieke kabbelende swing in de stijl van Hot club de France laten ze stevig stuwen en met gesloten ogen duiken ze in een jazzy-ballade. Deze diversiteiten worden vertolkt met een speelse vrijheid en vurig enthousiasme. Met een luchtige presentatie van hun "Wereldmuziek" weten ze een optreden breed toegankelijk en tegelijkertijd verrassend te houden. Gipsy Mood is een sextet, dat zowel, mobiel en akoestisch, ook versterkt kan entertainen. Ideaal voor evenementen, recepties, bedrijfsfeesten, privefeesten, jubilea, brunches, trouwfeesten, diners, high tea arrangementen, enz. De bezetting bestaat uit zang, viool, gitaar, accordeon, klarinet en contrabas. Regelmatig organiseren wij demo-avonden, zodat U, kunt luisteren en kijken naar en persoonlijk kennis kunt maken met Gipsy Mood. Mahala Rai Banda / Balkan Reggae from "GHETTO BLASTERS"

Mahala Rai Banda, Romania’s funkiest Gypsy brass band, blew minds with their 2009 album ”Ghetto Blasters”. Amongst the many hyper-fast tunes rocking on that disc there was one of sweet, laid-back grooves called ‘Balkan Reggae’.

‘Balkan Reggae’ found Mahala Rai Banda paying homage to their soul brothers in Jamaica. In the year that Jamaica is celebrating 50 Years of Independence, Mahala Rai Banda chose to reach out to their Jamaican brethren and invited London-based top dub remixer Jstar to give ‘Balkan Reggae’ a sonic turbo charge.

Long celebrated for his classic reggae hip-hop mashups, Jstar regularly tours the planet dropping good grooves on party people and pushing bass culture forward. Jstar, who knows a phat groove when he hears one, is a big Mahala Rai Banda fan. His dub remix of ‘Balkan Reggae’ keeps the tune’s lyrical, sunshine vibe while giving it an urban electro tweak and twist. The debut single from Temples is released by Heavenly Recordings on Monday 12th November 2012.

Both tracks were recorded in early September and produced by Temples in Pyramid Studios, their home studio in Kettering.

Temples have been confirmed as main support on the forthcoming Mystery Jets tour alongside London shows with Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs and Tribes. They will also be playing the London Calling festival in Amsterdam.
