Join me aboard the magnificent Fair Lady as we embark on an unforgettable journey to Heligoland. Our adventure begins on the open deck, where the gentle symphony of the wind and sea serenade our senses. As we make our way below decks, we navigate through a lively crowd of spirited punk enthusiasts, eagerly en route to the renowned Butterfahrt Festival on Düne Island. It's only 8 am, yet the affordable beer flows freely, and I apologize in advance for any language that might be deemed inappropriate by our German-speaking friends.

Venturing deeper into the heart of the ship, we are enveloped by the rhythmic rumble and vibrations emanating from the engine, providing a captivating backdrop to the lively conversations, clinking cutlery, and eclectic music that fills the air. As we ascend past the engine room, climbing higher and higher, we reach a tranquil sanctuary after passing through the portholed door once again, greeted by the refreshing northern breeze that kisses our faces.

Undoubtedly one of today’s most gifted visionaries of the electronic scene, Bassiani’s beloved resident HVL has to be one of the best-kept secrets. But for how long? His sound sculptures, spanning everything ranging from kosmische-indebted downtempo to ethereal dub techno to murky, post-industrial ambient conjure up that dusty grain of Rephlex-era masterpieces and nu-age serenity, reeling off their soothing lineage across newly pollinated grounds. One for the ages, infused with that widescreen, cinematic grandiosity, HVL’s RYC mix is everything you could have wished for: the very definition of walking the surface of the moon on your own, floating away from a crater to the other with weightless agility, as the earth reveals its blue silhouette in the distance. A taste of infinity. Yes, we’re talking that kind of beautiful.

Calling @mattheis a pillar of Nous'klaer Audio would be an understatement. Founded in 2013, the label was at the time solely created to put out Mattheis' Isms EP. Now, twelve years on, we present his latest album: Waiting for the Silhouette.

The forty minute LP full of dreamy techno bliss explorations starts out, and is glued throughout, with ethereal modulating synths. Dreamscapes fuse into scattered drums and shifting patterns briefly usher in changing phases. It's in these moments when the unworldly contours take form and are built upon by other emerging elements. Waiting for the silhouette is a record about things coming to life, outlines that start to appear and shapes evoking memories that could as well be premonitions. Minimalism and maximalism become indistinguishable on this album, through the trip in between.

We’re thrilled to have @jessegofficial relaunch our mix series this year: a dynamic and rhythmically rich selection of grooving, driving techno. Last year we had her over for a back-2-back with Konduku at our ADE party, and we’re excited to announce her as the first confirmed artist for Nous’klaer Festival on June 28! 

Jesse G comes from the Berlin school of techno, being affiliated with RSO, Tresor and Hard Wax - a serious talent everyone should watch. Even more so because of how effortlessly she makes techno sound so fun. Dive into her sound with this sublime one hour mix.

Fresh from Stochastic Drift, Barker’s buzzing second album named Bleep Record of the Month alongside an exclusive 12”, Barker sends a mix that really digs deep into the unique sonic methodology he has constructed across his solo career width a suitable breadth for what is also a milestone in the series, Bleep Mix #300.

From Debiasing to Utility to Stochastic Drift, Barker has been reimagining club music without its definitive thump, instead driven by melody and tactile synthesis, and this selection of tracks expands Barker’s soundworld with a host of artists walking a similar path. “For this mix, I picked out some of my favourite uptempo ambient tracks, recorded at home with two decks and a mixer. It’s music I've used in a lot of different contexts, as a DJ and listener, and I hope you enjoy it.”

Though the occasional dancefloor thump makes itself known, such as on Adriana Lopez’ ‘What Lies Behind’, it’s mostly in quaking subs rather than actual four to the floor, providing some ground for this mix’s airy freeform variety to fly over. We have the wooden plunks and seaspray of Afefe Iku’s Kenyan island sound, the wonky gamelan of Tyler Friedman’s maze of bells and chimes, the dense atmosphere of shaker-produced rain and electrical chirps forged deep in the ruins of The Future Sound Of London.

The midsection of this mix contains some magic in particular: the maestro of drumless trance Lorenzo Senni creates motion from pure jagged synth energy on ‘The Power of Failing’, dissolving into the aether of an unreleased Barker track, which further discharges into the kaleidoscopic stutters of Caribou’s ‘Never Come Back’ with jubilant piano chords and vocal clips wrought into a glitchy, swirling maelstrom of Koreless' prickly warmth. Digital Justice’s ‘Theme From It’s All Gone Pearshaped’ follows, a timeless staple for anyone wishing to dabble in melodic motion and synthsmithery, or any DJ set seeking to add some lift without losing momentum, of which this mix is in no short supply.

I’ve been meaning to resurrect the Dusky Delay mix series for quite some time since I left Openlab radio a couple of years ago. Well, it’s back! bi-monthly transmissions will appear here on SoundCloud from now on.
