I was being verbally abused 
And blasphemed 
I responded with contempt

But it seems the issue slowly ceased to be the present day

But it was the past few months before school suddenly

Rather than praying that I be safe in the trip 
They assured the trip would go wrong 
That it’s just an excuse 
And the whole jargon that is usual 
Practically unspeakable in my case 
Seeing this as another foolish thing 
And not of God answering her complaint 
I saw a hook in a sky while asking 
If the drive was worth canceling the show
and making the money I was demanded of 
And saw a path I never usually took. 
I took it as if I were to do something my flesh did not want to do 
But this was something I had earnestly considered that God make the complete decision.
He told me to tell that person after this 
It became another act of verbal abuse 
And defamation 
My contempt grew 
And I played around their hatred 
God had layed coals over their head 
But this burning was still the devils 
At the height of my contempt 
As they yelled 
I laid my arms around them 
My urge to destroy 
I lied to my own body 
And hugged them 
Kissed them 
Over and over and over 
As they yelled 
Slowly the yell 
Became a cry 
An uncontrollable weeping 
I told them softly 
That God has everything covered 
And that I’m working on getting an internship through the school 
early, rather than as soon as it’s required 
I left warm 
In the past 
I would’ve harmed out of myself 
to avoid my old father’s sin 
To avoid proving 
This loathing of comparison

I place I’d never gone before 
I loved out of myself
