The day we wash away our rough hangovers with a sneaky wave, the day we lie disheveled in bed and watch David Attenborough doco's for hours on end, the day we spend an age stuffing our faces at the local burger shop and ordering way more than we could ever finish. Sundays are a great day for so many things but there's one thing that doesn't belong on a Sunday, undies. 
If you haven't yet heard of 'no undie Sundie' let us enlighten you. Whatever you're doing and whatever you're wearing on a Sunday, be it jeans or boardies you're doing it wrong if you're wearing undies, end of story.

This mix has been thrown together with laid back, undieless Sunday vibes in mind. Get them off and get down this and every Sunday from now on.

The School of Barney Cools has commenced, it's time to B.Schooled. The handball courts are in prime condition, the canteen is stocked up and the girls are looking damn fine, as is the paper aeroplane we just threw at the teacher. 

Luckily for us the first class of the day is cruisy as all hell, we've got GRMM in the mix. Kick back, and watch tutorial 1 fly by with these mellow beats.

Valentines day is the one day of the year that you can be a tragic, soppy, whipped little pansy and get away with it.  Take the misso out for dinner, wine her, dine her, pamper her and make sweet, sweet love. Turn your phone off so the boys can't bother you, and show your valentine why you think she is special, if she spends the next day walking around the house in nothing but a Barney Cools knit or tee then you know you're on to a winner.

Here's a valentines mix to set the mood. Just remember to play safe kids. 

Barney Cools™ - Valentines 2016 Mix

Tim Commandeur has clocked up more hours on stages and under lights than you're average musician. He started his career by touring the world, playing at festivals like Glastonbury as a member of operator please. Their songs about ping pong and the likes took Australia by storm and what started as a high school pop band soon became a globally recognised name. 

He's also a performing member of Panama, which has helped him to clock up more than his fair share of frequent flier miles. It's sent him around the world and back a few times to play at more huge festivals and clubs than you can poke a stick at!

Finally we get around to 'Commandeur', Tim's latest project. He's flying solo for this one, throwing together buttery smooth, summery house tracks that yell 'put your windows down, sunnies on, and get your ass down to the beach pronto.' We can't wait to see how far this project takes him, but we're guessing it'll have him back where he feels most at home, in the frequent flier lounges, in no time.
 
In the meantime, tune in to his mix and learn a thing or two about nice music. Don't forget to take notes!

School Of Barney Cools ~ Tutorial 2 ~ Commandeur's Skipping Class Mixtape

Young Franco is a proud member of the School of Barney Cools. He always cops the 'he could do well if he applied himself' and 'he is a distraction to his peers' on his report cards and we appreciate that. Young Franco is smart, he's also a smart ass, teachers say he talks back too much but we just say he's keeping them on their toes.

Like most, young Franco loves excursions. Although he calls Brisbane home he's constantly skipping school to play gigs all over country. His cross breed of house and disco keep the dance floors full, the spirits high and the asses dropping low. Not only does he spin gold, he's also produces it. His track 'Pick You Up Darlin', a collaboration with Set Mo, pricked up our ears and then 'Don't You Want Me' got us dancing so who knows what his next release, due in a matter of weeks, will do.

We set a little bit homework for him, not only has he done it but he killed it so we've given him 2 gold stars. Take a listen, I'm sure you'll agree that he deserves them.

School of Barney Cools ~ Tutorial 3 ~ Homework with Young Franco

Being recognised and scoring radio play at the age of 16 gives you an idea for how talented Tyler Touche is. Now 19, he's managed to stay relevant and continually cop love from Triple J with his always ripe releases.

His mellow, funk vibes keep us locked in cruise control, never without a spring in our step. Tyler has thrown together a mix of what we like to call hammock house, best enjoyed horizontally with a beverage in hand and a subtle yet constant rock.

The School of Barney Cools is just as much a haven of relaxation as it is a palace of partying. You can't fly sky high 24/7, to stay sane you need to touch down at some point. When you're melting on the sand, muzzing on a grassy knoll, milandering on your bed or mellowing out on a beanbag, it’s essential that your surroundings are at the right level of 'Chill'. 

We assure you that this is the sound of relaxation. Take a load off, mould in to your seat and sooth your aching soul. It's time to chill the fuck out.

Sumer time in NYC can be a tough ordeal. Stinking hot days with no escape from the humidity, hustle and bustle. Escaping to the coast a few times a year makes it bearable though. Escaping the big smoke to wine, dine and party with fun loving crew. Soaking in the chilled atmosphere, salty air and refreshing summer breeze. 

The Surf Lodge is the 'go to' place these days, with their amazing deck playing host to some of the worlds greatest artists. A soundtrack to our summer.

Summer seemed to rush past us in a flash, we think right now is the time to reflect on all the shenanigans we got up to and all the memories we created. To wrap-up your summer we've created this mixtape, made up of artists that featured at Surf Lodge throughout the summer of '16.
