Feels incredible to be releasing my Debut Album, it's been such a long process and such a long challenge it kind of felt like this day would never come, but it did.

Conceptually the album is about romanticizing a naive world view. That naiveness and ignorance is something to be cherished. There's something really beautiful about the perfect worldview you have as a kid, that the world is harmless, beautiful and good. The more you learn and experience though the more you realise everything isn't perfect. So the less you know the more beautiful it is, it's the things we haven't done, the places we don't know, that have this unquestionable beauty to it. it's this world i'm trying to mirror with my album, the one that stays in your imagination.

Musically i knew i wanted to do a sonic representation of the concept, blending worldly sounds with small bedroom type samples and soundscapes. I really loved the idea of those two polarizing things being the two main factors that would lay the ground for the album.

#SCFirst - "worthy" was one of the first songs that i wrote when i got to LA to start writing the album and it's stuck with me as one of my favourites up till now. the whole process took a long time but i finally found a way to incorporate my guitar playing into my electronic productions, without it feeling forced or unnatural to me. Most people associate guitars with heavy rock and shredding guitar solos but there’s none of that on the album. I’m much more into sparkly pretty guitar melodies. I hope this new combination of sounds touches you like it touched me 😊!

#SCFirst - “lift me from the ground” is a song i wrote to describe the feeling of meeting somebody who makes you feel like you’re floating. it started out as a little melody I played on guitar, you can still hear it in the first part of the song right after the vocals kick in. I wanted this song to be something with a big drop but not with a typical trap beat that you might expect from me. I’ve been playing this song out live for a while already and it always feels great 😊

Yo Fam,

I've been wanting to share something super personal for a while and just wasn't exactly sure how to do it. I'm at the point now where I've heard countless stories from you. Some of you have said my music changed your life, helped you through depression, addiction, a lost loved one, the list goes on. Honestly, I feel bad because you don't know how much that truly means to me, because I've been there too... In the depths.

Six years ago I overdosed on heroin. I struggled with opiate addiction from a young age. I was trapped in it, had no passion, no direction, and truly hated myself. It was such a dark time for me and my family because when it gets bad enough, hope begins to dim and there's no escaping reality. I'm not telling you to preach or say how I found some magical cure or that everyone needs to live like I do. I'm the biggest advocate for people living their own lives and spreading their own love in their own ways. I'm just sharing my story and relating because music saved my life too. With everything that has been going on with my career, I always keep reminding myself of that. My main goal with music is to try and help people overcome their struggles and also enjoy the moment.

With all that said , 'Take You Down' is about my struggles with addiction and what it can do to families and loved ones. It's more specifically about my mom, and how no matter what, she never gave up on me and always continued to see the good even though all I was doing was messing up. To anyone struggling like I did, not just with addiction but anything in life, I hope you guys can find peace in your struggles and know that anything can be overcome. I've been clean since that overdose and I owe that to finding my passion and being surrounded by the most loving people I could ever ask for. Thank you for always listening and being open. Thank you for sharing your own stories and your love of music with me. Love you all forever :)
