For Trushmix 172 we got Kim Dürbeck straight outta Sandefjord Norway. The techno and jungle producer is part of the younger generation of producers from Norway, operating in the outskirts of the Oslo scene. Active producing new music and live sets.     

For Trush he made a mix mainly jungle related in style, with a few detours through different sounds and genres, a fun trip through the sounds and inspirations of Mr Dürbeck!

E2E: Tell us about some of the nostalgic memories, environments or experiences you had when you were growing up, discovering your taste in music? 

Taking the 50min bus trip to the city (Bergen) over the bridge from the island Sotra and through the tiny village I grew up in, listening to radio-tapes or my own mixes from the night before. Speeding through the forest highways with a fresh drivers-license listening to CDs from Bergen Music Library. Hearing music from sitting on the curb outside the nightclubs I was too young to get into. Going to the record store Nøstekollektivet after school. Hearing the "Indisco" track seeping through the door from the neighbour apartment (who made it) of the other apartment I went to buy imported Montana spray-cans, listening to the first mix-cd I ever purchased (Roy Davis Jr). The train station in Bergen (Where I'd be taking the train to Voss where I moved away from home to go to school when I was 16). Listening to and taping Norwegian FM-radio. Listening to and "taping" (to MiniDisc) Gilles Peterson's "Worldwide" show when I was a student in 2002-2004.. Listening to my friend's tapes and mixes playing basketball or skating in the summer.. and yes.. think that's it, for this one in particular..

E2E: Are you working on any projects or releases you'd like to share? 

Remix 12" of Joan Bibiloni with Sotofett and me just out on Saft Records now. A remix out on Prins Thomas' Internasjonal label out in a few weeks, a remix of Norwegian band Hubbabubbaklubb too + some other remixes in the pipeline.. Just launched my new monthly radio-show called "New Massage" on Refuge Worldwide radio in Berlin. 

The next European Carryall 12" will be out in April.. followed by "Point Breaks / Beach Breaks Vol.2" a few months later. And another European Carryall 12" due in Summer/Autumn. 

I think the coming times will be an outlet for everything I've been doing in this weird vacuum-year 🤓✌️

Right when you thought the 80's had been mostly dug out, the "Night City Life" compilation hits the shelves. 
Ever since we heard his compilation for Spacetalk we were blown away: one of the best curations of early MIDI dancefloor/radio oriented productions we'd heard in a while. Truly refreshing to the human ear, not to mention the heavy research behind it. As such, we've wanted to book Ilan ever since but then COVID happened. Still a wet dream to see him do his thing live but for now here's this amazing bit of aural goodness to get you in the right mindset. 

Ilan is a London-based record collector. He can often be found posting the artwork of 80s vinyl from his collection on Instagram; a patchwork of nostalgia from musical days gone by.

Barandana is highly regarded for his global record digging and innovative dance music productions releasing an array of hot music under the names Dea and Zatua, with distribution by Gudu Records, Second Circle, and Sound Metaphors.

His compositions are distinguished by unique melodies inspired by his passion for obscure Asian film soundtracks but when in DJ mode you can expect anything.

In this 60 min session Dea presents his recent dancefloor discoveries across new beat and new wave sounds.

Crown Ruler Mix #29 - Dea

Running Hot is producer and DJ Mark Newman. He discovered rave when he was 13 via a tape from his mate at school which has led to a lifelong love affair. He is is orignally from South Wales and now resides in Berlin running with the Love On The Rocks crew... This mix is based on his love of Italo-house. It's a nice one... Enjoy.

"I recorded this one in the middle of another frosty and grey morning in Berlin so I wanted to try and conjure up some of the spirit of summer. I’d had the idea for a while to try and do a mix with a lot of very pitched down Italo-house stuff so that it almost starts to sound a bit like kwaito and has a nice laid back feel… So here it is! Hope you enjoy!"
