Barry Adamson's work as a bassist for Magazine and Nick Cave's Bad Seeds gave little indication of the complex cinematic works he has composed and arranged as a solo artist. 

Since leaving the Bad Seeds, Adamson has produced a succession of compelling and deeply personal LPs such as Moss Side Story (1989), the Mercury Prize nominated Soul Murder (1992), Oedipus Schmoedipus (1996) and Know Where To Run (2016).

As a film composer, Adamson has worked with some of the film industry’s most intriguing mavericks including Derek Jarman (The Last of England, 1987), David Lynch (The Lost Highway, 1997), Oliver Stone (Natural Born Killers, 1994) and Danny Boyle (The Beach, 2000).

In 2021, Barry released the country, jazz and blues-esque Steal Away EP via @muterecords in conjunction with his memoir 'Up Above the City, Down Beneath the Stars'. Listen here: https://mute.ffm.to/barrya
