Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, the SOS Band, Inside Out, So Fine, Give Me [how I met my first Love] AWESOME Memories!!  Amazing how much we have in common all the way from NYC. Yes, it's Sunday and the next mix of my musical résumé is due. Part 7!
And this time I really have a lot to tell ...
In 1978 I moved to the BIG BEN in Lauf a.d.Pegnitz, a large disco with a large dance floor (it was rare at the time) and in the middle of it a discarded Nuremberg tram that was painted red to match the name of the disco.
My workplace was in the driver's cab, it was soooo awesome.
1978 was crazy anyway, Radio Luxemburg made a series called "Disco Total" - out of over 200 discos, 10 were finally determined from which the broadcast was live, then the listeners selected the 3 best and they were then allowed to broadcast a radio broadcast Luxembourg make.
When I found out that I was there, I was completely over the moon.
I also started mixing, which was not easy at the time because there were no turntables with which you could regulate the speed exactly.
But I was so excited about mixing after a friend brought me a tape from America on which the songs merged seamlessly.
There weren't that many Maxis yet and with the singles it wasn't exactly easy to hang up.
But now back to the music.
Disco was so popular in 1978 that artists such as Rod Stewart “Da ya think I'm sexy”, Toto “Georgie Porgie”, Rolling Stones “Miss you”, and Blondie “Heart of glass” performed in the clubs.
The Bee Gees had been popular authors since Saturday Night Fever and wrote hits for Frankie Valli "Grease", Melba Moore "You step into my life", Graham Bonnet and Rare Earth "Warm ride" and many more.
So many new things happened in music again in 1978, so a mix again for this year today and the second next week.

Start Mixing With The Vinyls 1978

Hello everyone, let's go to the next round, the year 1982!
I was pretty shocked when I opened my 1982 list and immediately knew:
It’s less than 2 hours for a year’s mix. Drum is there today for the R&B and Hip Hop fans
the first with 120 minutes of excellent sound.
Diana Ross starts with Muscles, a song that Michael Jackson wrote, just awesome, then the song that served as the template for Warren G's "Regulate", the original by Michael McDonald.
Also my absolute favorite from 1982 "Why" by Carly Simon from the film "Soup for one", with the handwriting of Nile Rodgers.
Then the unmistakable sound of Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, the SOS Band and and and.
2 hours for real R&B lovers who got their money's worth in 1982.
This year I spent almost 5 weeks on vacation in the USA and came back with a lot of overweight on records, thanks again to the grinning guy at the check in who probably guessed what was in my suitcase :-)
Indeep landed a worldwide hit with their praises of us DJ's,
Odyssey were successful several times and Melba Moore and Patrice Rushen also celebrated a successful year in the club charts.
The latter made one of the best records of all time with “Forget me nots”, which probably also inspired Will Smith when he started “Men in black” :-)
Sharon Redd became a disco icon and at the end again music from "Soup for one", the song of the same name by CHIC and you already know why Mojo's "Lady" always seemed so familiar to you ....

80s Glories - The Pop Mix

Hello music hungry :-)
Today we close the year 1991 with all the facets of house music that were represented that year.

First of all, one of my all-time favourites, actually a mix of two house cult songs, namely Jamie Principle's "Your love" and samples from Adeva's "Musical freedom", which then became "You got the love" by The Source feat. Candy Staton
The song was the first song I played at house events for many years because it's so unique.
Here are a few more real hammers from this year, a few "MUST HAVE's" so to speak:
"Unfinished Sympathy". "Always There" with the unmistakable voice of Jocelyn Brown,
"It should've been me" (a Motown classic) revamped by Adeva, "Finally" by the elegant Ce Ce Peniston, Clivilles & Cole "Deeper Love" (best in the 12 minute version!!), - and this one both of them also brilliantly remixed Lisa Lisa's "let the beat hit 'em".

Marky Mark (Ex New Kids On The Block) cleared the Euro charts with "Good Vibration"
(Thanks for the samples from Loleatta Holloway).
La Tour had arguably its only but most notable hit with "People are still having sex" and Moby turned the key song from Twin Peaks into a huge song, GO!
For me this track is one of the best productions ever, I love it !!!!

90s Mix 1

DJ since the early´s 80´s, I start DJing in bars (No Sense) then in Clubs (Resident DJ at Lux and KoolKat) and also hosting some Radio shows..
After 10 years, stopped mixing professionally. 
Influenced by the harmonic sound, beat and groove of Jazz, Soul, Funk and Disco music since very young.
Nowadays House Music is my preference but never forgetting that (old) sound that influenced all those new ones.
