Throughout her discography and performances, experimental pop and performance artist Sui Zhen has zoomed in on the intersections between human life and technology — how to exist in the digital age, as well as the ways in which we risk losing true sight of ourselves in the process. From the banal pastel dystopia of the Secretly Susan era music videos to the invention of Linda, a ghostly apparition who manifests in her latest LP, Losing, Linda – her cinematic, surreal and staged landscapes allow her unique take on pop music to sit within its own uncanny terrain.

"Closing the night were “Men’s Adventures” who were dressed like Patrick Bateman and other business men in “American Psycho”. They successfully pulled off the dapper black suits and slicked back hair. Suited and booted, they were smooth and soulful, displaying an array of influences from south American blues to “Broken Hearts”. Their pleasant melancholic musings, combined with the shimmering cymbals, connected with the audience who were willing to sway and swoon at the appropriate moments. Witty in character, cheeky front-man Alfie Smith jumped into the crowd, still able to croon harmonious tones, he had audience members in the palms of his hands, which was followed with a warm applause ending an evening to remember."

Patrick Hatch, Thomas Hyland & Christopher Campbell started Ivy St in 2008 whilst living in Hobart, Tasmania. They released Flicker On (EP) in 2008, Picture Machine (LP) in 2009, Oh their Faces (7”) in 2010. They played at the Falls Festival, MONA FOMA and were picked as a Next Crop Artist for J. Ivy St were also asked to perform at the opening of the Museum of Old and New Art along with Philip Glass, Grinderman and Wire. 


In early 2014, Ivy St released their second album, Courting.
