Phuturelabs:

Brachtel’s Selbstversorgersound collective set up the SVS imprint with a plan to take artists firmly out of their comfort zone to write some of their best material and collaborate with those whose paths they may not have crossed.

Each year, they gather a number of producers and take them to a chalet in the alps, cut off from mobile communication but packed with studio equipment.

The first fruit of this unique endeavour landed in October last year and now they’re lining up three volumes of material entitled “The Polyrhthmic Series” packed with brilliant techno and electronica.

The first part is out now and features Günther Lause, Zaquoir, Larkin & The Sky, Bartellow and Lukas Rabe.

To give us a further flavour of the SVS sound, Bartellow has delivered a rather tidy guest mix full of quality material from the likes of A Made Up Sound, Burnt Friendman and more, with a couple of his own tunes also sneaking in there.

The Open Border Ensemble and its stories are opening up a place between Munich and Damascus in different parts of Munich. The soundtrack of the theatre show Miunikh-Damaskus (Münchner Kammerspiele) invites to stay a bit longer in this third space. The album was produced during the rehearsal time in spring 2018.

We started a project called “Tambien” in collaboration with Marvin&Valentino. Together we reinterpret some carefully selected tracks, which got released in a very limited hand-numbered vinyl-only edition this May. These records first and foremost go out to friends and fellow Djs. But you may be able to get a few of them at Optimal Munich, Schwittenberg, Phonica in London, Mount Analog in Los Angeles and A1 Records in New York.

Munich’s music muscle Bartellow pulled out an old recording from bandproject ‚la grosse bertha‘ that brought together young francophone artists from all different angles stranded in Munich. La grosse bertha was the biggest Nazi Bomb ever built. The name had to be overwritten to send positive forces transcending all borders that define colonialism and nationalist ideology. Still impressed by its originality, Bartellow recently gave it a new breaky-acidic spin for global high energy dancefloors. Percussion and vocal recordings feature cameroonian rapper and percussion wizard Mc Olangé.
