With Assumed Identity, Jonias Escurá — one of Meet Recordings’ defining artists — returns to the label with a release that transcends boundaries and reaches into the outer edges of deep, hypnotic techno. Inspired by the vastness of space, atmospheric tension, and the concept of “3I/1atlas” — a symbolic reflection of our era — Jonias channels his fascination with cosmic environments into a sonic journey that feels both intimate and infinite. The title track, Assumed Identity, opens the release with a documentary-like voiceover that guides listeners through layers of pulsating rhythm and immersive soundscapes. Its hypnotic drive and cinematic depth reveal Escura’s signature precision and emotional clarity — a fusion of mechanical energy and human curiosity. The accompanying tracks, Abundant and Substance, expand on this theme, each exploring new tonal dimensions and rhythmic architectures. Beginning of 2012 Phase caused quite a storm in techno’s landscape with the release of ‘Binary Opposition’. Both versions, “Process 1 &amp; 2”, fierce pieces of relentless yet deep techno, got on heavy rotation by Blawan, Ben Klock, Surgeon, Marcel Dettmann, Dave Clarke, to name a few.
 
A few months later, we present ‘Binary Opposition Reprocessed’. Assembling a remix package for this project wasn’t a difficult task, as all remixers were noted fans of the original tracks and supporters of Phase as an artist.

After releasing on labels like Hypnus Records and Outis Music, @LuigiTozzi debuts on Spanish Non Series imprint with his new EP Tender Is The Night. Monument premieres the closing track of the release that will be out on February 8th.

As Planetary Assault Systems, @Luke-Slater is an innovator of psychedelic mindfuck techno. Across a lengthy catalogue that stretches back into the 90s, the music’s bleepy, polyrhythmic loops are as recognizable as they are genre-defining. ‘Plantae’ is Slater’s first release as PAS on Ostgut Ton since ‘Arc Angel’ (2016) and covers the spectrum of PAS’s different strains while remaining grounded in Slater’s uncanny funk and knack for developing oblique melodies and rhythms over longer stretches. Deepness and hypnosis come as much through duration as sound design.

For Slater, ‘Plantae’ is made for Berghain, where he is a long-standing resident. In his own words: “I’m sure it’s no surprise that when it comes to putting together a release on Ostgut Ton, PAS takes on its more mind-altering, otherworldly quality by natural cause, quietly reflecting the dark sweaty nights and days at the club; at the point, the common neural coupling, of us all together. PAS has been part of Berghain and Berghain part of PAS for a long time. All of these tracks needed to pass the Berghain test in my sets first stop.”
