After winning the coveted IMRO Clancy Brothers songwriting competition back in 2015, the future looked very bright for Jamie Mulrooney AKA “Doppler” and seemed on the cusp of something special. Ever since then things went a little sideways.. 

This wasn’t the first or the last accolade the Mayo born singer/songwriter amassed over the years either. Receiving a string of glowing press features in Hot Press, The Irish Times, Joe.ie, Chordblossom things seemed on the up and up for the guy and Doppler was even scouted by Atlantic Records at one time. Doppler has gained plenty of other accolades including being voted Song of the Week (2XM), Song of the Day (JOE), Listen of the Week (U&I), Featured Single of the Week         ( Right Chord Music), to name just a few.

He has shared the stage with the likes of Gavin James, Neil Hannon, Cathy Davey, The Blizzards, The Saw Doctors, Jackie Beverly and even played with Bonehead from Oasis a couple of times.

Before releasing the award winning track  “The Truth is Not Your Own” Jamie fell out of love with songwriting, recording and performing solo and decided to put the whole thing on hold and instead pursued a new career….in “ukulele tutoring”. and is now responsible for the largest ukulele programme in the country,''Ceili Ukulele” teaching 800 (YES 800) children a week in national schools for Music Generation.

After an influential recording session with Tommy McGlaughin (Villagers, SOAK) recently in Attica Studios, Jamie decided to get back in the game and plan this long overdue return to releasing music.

Co Monaghan singer-songwriter Charles James Livingstone has released his second single - what the heart needs from his upcoming Solo EP ‘ patience and time’ Livingnstone released the first track from said EP in March,  a song titled midnight moon . The release gained livingstone a massive radio response with the likes of RTÉ radio 1 picking the song up and adding it to their recommendations list for two weeks in a row , the song also got picked up in the states by quite a few radio stations including- folk Alley radio show - npr . Midnight moon was also premiered with hotpress magazine. 
Taking a step back from writing with his band Lowlight Gathering while in lockdown, Livingstone has decided to go it alone on this one, writing and recording the songs from the comfort of his bedroom at home. With this second single livingstone definitely steps outside the box of some of his previous releases,  writing the song  entirely on piano rather than taking to the  guitar which has always been his main instrument of choice for writing . 
Working once again with producer and singer-songwriter Ryan Sheridan who Livingstone has worked with in the past and getting old bandmate  (Shay Sweeney on drums to record parts remotely, Livingstone has been able to create a beautiful full
sound that hasn't lost the spark of magic that lead his band multiple plaudits in the past. 
Charles’ previous releases with his band have seen him win a Best Newcomer Award at the Pure M Music Awards for the band's first EP release Young Hearts. The band also received rave reviews for the release from the likes of Hot Press and The Irish Times with extensive radio airplay on both local and regional airwaves. With this new single release Livingstone is hoping to gain the listeners attention and possibly show them a different side to his craft moving forward as a solo artist in 2021.
