The latest release on Alan Dixon’s Love Attack Records comes from Egypt’s Misty. A sound that speaks volumes of emotions, coupled with hypnotic percussive textures is what Misty brings to the table as an artist. His musical productions focus on his love for rhythmic movements of bass and percussions to provide a worldly take on deep house and techno music aimed at merging cultures apart, and has led to him being labelled as ‘one of the main artists to keep an eye for in 2018’ by WhenWeDip Magazine.
 
Here, he delivers two original tracks for post-pandemic audiences who are well and truly ready to get back out and party. Canada’s Andrew Shier delivers the vocal on the lead track with Belgium’s Vhyce (Pets/AEON/Future Disco) on remix duties.

Way back in the mists of time we were involved in Slide, a club that started in the mid 90s and ran for over 20 years in Oxford and London. This is a little mix for a forthcoming podcast about the night, featuring some 00s house rollers that we played loads at the time bookended by a couple of more recent favourites.

Spring 2017 Mix

Erstwhile Nottingham disco party starters now relocated to London with a show on MyHouseYourHouse Radio … mhyh.live

Set up by DJs Nick Shaw and Ed Cotton and promoter Olly Hewett, Basement Boogaloo began life beneath the streets of Nottingham and developed into one of the city's best-loved parties. It had three simple ingredients: a dancefloor full of like-minded musical souls, a crystal-clear sound system and some of the best DJ talent from across the disco galaxy. 

Here you can listen to recent radio shows and some of the residents' mixes from the past few years. 

Over the course of 7 or so years, the parties moved from Bar None (a tiny basement bolthole) to the Maze (a rowdy local venue which perfectly suited the night's sweaty brand of hedonism) via famed bank holiday all-dayers and NYE shakedowns in Notts, and appearances at the Electric Chair, the Electric Elephant and the Garden Festival in Croatia. The gang also hosted a series of parties and two killer NYEs at The Star of Bethnal Green and a series of more intimate basement affairs in Stoke Newington, London.
