Where did the song come from?
Well, one day, I was walking through the countryside and there was this massive field of sunflowers. It seemed to me like they were marching over the hill, like in Fantasia with all the brooms. They were all looking up to the sky and they seemed like a nation of future beings with hope and positivity. It’s very simple, the melody. I used to listen to this Japanese record when I was a toddler, very simple with drums and flutes. What I remembered became the melody for this song. It’s about the essence of life and sunshine drying your tears.

We were really happy to get involved with the House of Fairytales: it’s encouraging children to use their minds and their imaginations, to be creative. Day of the Sunflowers seemed ideal for what they were doing. We were asked to provide something that people could play at home and, of all the stuff we’ve done, it’s something with a very strong, clear melody. I have a two-year-old daughter, but there was something childlike in our music anyway, I think, before she came along. Kids’ reaction to music is really instant: you can play them something and they either want to hear it again and again or they don’t like it at all.

Our version of Day of the Sunflowers features vocals by Yoko Ono, who we got in touch with after finding out she was a fan of another of our songs, Romeo. I think she was a bit wary of going into the studio with a bunch of DJ/producers, but she was great. 

She said: “Do you want me to do the Yoko Ono thing?” and we said: “Yes please!” She went off with her wails — I love all that: it’s freedom and expression and it’s human. She’s 76, getting on, but she looked very well and youthful.

As if Coyu hasn't given Skint enough with his 2011 floor filler remix of “X-Press 2 - Muzik Xpress”, he's back again to pay homage to one of the greatest and most celebrated Skint releases of all time. Fatboy Slim - Right Here, Right Now. 

Coyu takes the iconic string / sitar loop, laces it with a shimmering hi-hat rhythm over a pounding kick drum and punctuates it with choral stabs, to create a funked up club banger that manages to retain all the drama of the original. Take that dance floor; see if you can better this. Hands will be lifted, feet will be stomped and parties will peak. 

Can anyone contain the possibilities of this track? We don't think so. It's stamped its place in dance music history and who better to reaffirm its position than Suara boss man, Coyu.

Enchufada is set to launch their highly anticipated Upper Cuts free download series, and who better to kick it off than the head honcho himself? That's right, Branko, Buraka founding member and the man with more aliases than Prince, is back in action with a hint of bigger things on the horizon.

After the success of his track 'Going in Hard' with Dominique Young Unique, Branko is back  with yet another fiery collaboration with frequent Zebra Katz co-conspirer Njena Reddd Foxxx ('Ima Read'). Originally a WNDRBRD production, Branko flipped it into a space age Missy Elliot jam with a bouncy kick drum. '(One More) Silly Bitch' is a perfect example of Branko's quest to find an unlikely balance between different sonic universes, marrying uptempo club-oriented beats with rap music on a tropical island ceremony. It's no wonder he fancies himself as a sort of Anthony Bourdain of Ghetto Dance Music, as his globetrotting ways taught him how blend distinct cultures and rhythms into  a tasty, fulfilling and highly danceable sonic meal. 

This exciting track not only paves the way for the brand new Enchufada free release series (with many exciting bass-heavy surprises to come over the next six months), but also sheds some light on the forthcoming Branko mixtape scheduled to drop this March. Entitled 'Drums, Slums & Hums,' this mixtape will act as the producer's mission statement, with several new originals featuring an impressive cast of international collaborators. Branko will make us dance our troubles away, all the while further securing his spot among the Global Ghetto music royalty.
