Basement Letters' original Heavy Showers is flat-out brilliant -- roiling loss and release coiled in a danceable groove. Danny Pullar's vocals give me chills. He did me the honor of trusting me for a remix, and I brought out all the raw emotion and beauty out of it I could. 🖤 Good Sunset

I composed this meditative, koto- and synth-focused ambient track specially for Lonetapes' outstanding podcast "Did Somebody Say...Ambient?" -- an inspiration from the beginning. Sleepwalkers is a meeting of East and West, with spare, bright koto lines wrapped in warm analog pads. ACROBVT - A Thousand Times

Three minds meet in different time zones and seek to coalesce for under 3 minutes.  They ended up in the 90s to and found Some Kind of Bliss.

Recorded during Chinese New Year at my in-laws in Ningbo, all I had available to me was a 14 year old laptop with an old version of Sony Acid, an acoustic guitar and not much else. I grabbed a recorder and a harmonica before leaving Hangzhou so I could add a little something extra to arrangements and then just used whatever was lying around for percussion, including a cardboard box and a container of toothpicks. Taking out all the treble on the very basic 3 band DAW EQ and pushing the mids a little thankfully means an acoustic guitar can magically become a bass. I finished mixing the EP in a B&B in the Zhejiang countryside. No plugins on the laptop so no delay, reverb, compression or any of that gubbins.

Basement Letters is a creative outlet from the UK. Musically not too caught up in genre but existing somewhere within the indie / electronic / post punk / experimental spheres. Combining guitars, synthesizers, tapes, spoken word and not so spoken word to get whatever is inside, outside.

Visually the Basement Letters aesthetic is still developing and will continue to do so. The goal is somewhere between art and anti design, or something as equally pretentious.
