The Archives 001 kicks off with a special bootleg I made of Camiel Daamen – Una Más. This edit has been a personal favorite to play out, and I wanted to share it as part of this series. A moment that still captures the energy and inspiration I felt when I first made it.

The Archives is a monthly release series showcasing unreleased works from over the years, a curated selection of tracks that capture different moments and creative phases in my journey. Spanning House, Deep House, Minimal, Deep Tech, and UK Garage, each release stands on its own as a reflection of a specific time and feeling. These pieces may not have been made for labels or albums, but they represent the raw essence of my sound and evolution as an artist.

Ardalan’s ‘Mr. Good’ LP offers an emotional look into the heart and mind of a young artist. It’s a coming of age tale that tracks Ardalan as he figures out his sound and creative identity. 

The story unfolds across eleven tracks documenting Ardalan’s search for analog perfection.  The intricate sound design comes from a collection of hardware Ardalan has built over the years. There are no generic basslines or sample packs involved.  Ardalan reaches all the way back to early 2000s while updating the sound with modern mixdowns and clever production tricks. The album is weird yet danceable, classic yet futuristic.  

After watching Ardalan develop his sound and musical career over the years, we're proud to see him turn in this forward-thinking record that pushes his sound to the future.

Chicago house favourite Gene Farris returns to Toolroom with his latest single 'Nursery' this April. 

Renowned for his stand-out productions across the house sphere, Chicago's Gene Farris remains at the forefront of the scene with material to date via the likes of Relief, Dirtybird, VIVA Music, and his very own Farris Wheel Recordings supported by names including The Martinez Brothers, Loco Dice and Green Velvet. Following his recent collaboration 'Spirit Of House' with ATFC on the label earlier this year, early-April welcomes a bold return as he touches down on Toolroom Records to deliver his latest single 'Nursery'. 

Opening with cracking snares and sharp hi-hats, 'Nursery' reveals a series of acidic tones and warped basslines that go to work amongst Farris' own light and playful vocals, boldly contrasting against the production's darker aesthetics and revealing yet another well-executed house hit from the label favourite.
