First they had a feather fight. Then they did what’s known in the industry as ‘the gettup’ and proceeded to tear a hole into 2013… Now San Fran / Bristol’s finest dynamic duo return with two more beastly jams. 

“Steven Jello” takes us on a deep journey into the groove space continuum. Boasting a strutting cosmic bassline, hypnotic percussion, weeping synth flurries and a timeless house vocal shot, it’s Justin and Eats at their most contemplative. Heads down, feet to the floor, get busy… We have no idea who Steven Jello is, but as he’s inspired a tribute like this, we’re already in love with the man. 

“Kong” is so monstrous it’ll have you climbing the nearest skyscraper for safety. You’ll be ducking from the groaning, moaning airplanes overhead. You’ll be air drumming to the gargantuan tub-thumping fills. You’ll be shaking your hairy booty to the snake-like percussion. You’ll be pounding your chest to the rusty organ flourishes. You’ll be asking yourself… Where has this tune been all my life?!

Few co-lab projects resonate with such distinctive shared spirit and sonic camaraderie. It’s a shame Justin and Eats don’t live closer together or we’d have an entire album of this high calibre material by now.

After introducing Shiba San to the world with the breakout hit “Okay” last year, France’s newest house phenomenon, Shiba San returns to Dirtybird for the first official single of 2015. 

Shiba San has a deep background in hip hop and a penchant for ghetto sounds.  He's already headlining clubs and festivals around Europe and the US and is all set to have another monumental year. 

Up first is title track ‘Planet Floor’, which marries big bass stabs and clever effects to a sliding groove that cannot fail to engage your behind. Vocal cries and trippy melodies add to the drama, as does clever filtering that brings the drums in and out in engaging fashion. This one is another dance floor hit, make no mistake. 

‘Show Me, Show Me’ on the flip  is a dirty, sleazy house cut with a wobbling bottom end, crisp claps and hi hats. Exploding and imploding at whim, with nerve jangling keys loud in the mix and that rasping baseline never far from the ear. This is another club rocket. 

Pleasingly sordid, sweaty and seductive, this new Shiba San release confirms, without doubt, that he's definitely got game!

Dirtybird started with a grill and some speakers in the park, and while we’ve passed a decade of park parties, we’ve reached the third installment of our yearly BBQ compilation, “Secret Sauce'.

BBQ’s are all about coming together, so we’ve added some unique artist collaborations, along with several up and coming artists we’ve welcomed to the family. Doorly &amp; Marshall Jefferson, Shiba San &amp; Will Clarke, Billy Kenny &amp; Maximono, Christian Martin &amp; Ardalan, and Justin Jay &amp; Sacha Robotti all team up for the first time, and we welcome back Bruno Furlan and Sirus Hood, who each turn in their own stand-out tracks that have been on heavy rotation. Just ahead of the much anticipated WMC, Shiba San presents ‘Various Leaks, Vol.2’, the second Various Artists sampler on his label Basement Leak. It is a fine four track effort that packs a real punch and is lead by his own new banger ‘Drop It’. Shiba San selected the artists who would accompany him on the first release of 2017 himself, and they include LA based DJ and producer Dateless (who already took part in the first release of this VA series), followed by newcomers Black V Neck & Ayarez, and Brazilian Malive.

Up first is label boss Shiba San with ‘Drop It’ boasting rumbling bass, freaky little sounds and rasping synths all firing your every brain cell. 

Up next Dateless serves up a wonky tech house cut. It features plenty of weird synth lines, popping drums and crisp beats that all get run through with drunken sounding chords. It is fresh and original and sure to make the party go off in Miami. 

After we have ‘My Style’ from Black V Neck & Ayarez, and they really cook up a storm with fat drums and shuffling percussion. The tune is dark and with real attitude thanks to some rapped vocals. It demands you dance and will really stand out in any set.

‘Open Cap’ from Brazilian rising talent Malive then keeps things tough and deep, with heavy drums, coarse claps and tumbling sine waves all bring a booty shaking vibe to the groove. This closes out a fantastic EP showcasing nothing but raw talent from the Basement Leak roster!
