Born under the eternally blue sky he lives near the shores of Lake Baikal, hidden in the depths of the Siberian mountains. The love of Mongolian, Eastern folklore is reflected in his works. The symbiosis of folk instruments and electronic sounds will be in his soul forever. While listening to his story, we invite you to travel along the endless Siberian landscapes, with is amazing waters, the fresh air and beautiful wildlife.

The sun shines again in the Berlin sky and warms up our hearts, colors become vivid and the rhythms more vibrant. It is the right time to welcome Lui Mafuta (https://soundcloud.com/luimafuta) to our podcast series and to spread his seductive and enveloping sound into the warm breeze. 
Lui’s passion for music began in his adolescence when he started playing jazz drums alongside his father. He was greatly influenced by hip hop beats which formed the bedrock of his sound and early productions. 
However, the discovery of the so called ‘downtempo’ brought a remarkable change in his career as producer and introduced Lui to electronic music. The ease of the rhythms and the openness of the people crowding the scene helped him find a new form of expression, and shaped him to the brilliant producer that we know. Lui finds his inspiration in the energy of the crowd, and it´s his mission to return that energy in form of fresh sound. 
Lui finds enjoyment and motivation in the freedom that music production itself entails. The set he prepared for UCR was recorded live and consists exclusively of his own productions which are masterfully blended for us. We invite everyone - music lovers and attentive listeners, to experience that freedom too.

"Once you get lost in the music, you will find". That's Sebastian Gabriel's motto, a German Peruvian-rooted DJ and music producer specialized in catch the several sonic nuances all over the world and fusing it within electronic music, that  certainly intends to bridge the gap between world music, trip-hop and deep & slow electronic music a.k.a downtempo. Besides that, Sebastian is running the project Kútus together with Distoport since the beginning of 2019.

Our 156th edition is on fire, all tracks are written, produced and edited by him or his parallel projects, and unfortunately, all tracks are yet unreleased. Nevertheless, if anyone is interested in releasing any of the tracks feel free to get in touch. Under one hour length mixtape, the artist walks through a wide spectrum of sonorities, showing off versatility and powerfulness.

It was an honour to be able to play this set at one of the best parties in Berlin, the beautiful BeHome, in the wonderful Beate Uwe. This set is darker than my traditional sets, especially made for dancing late at night under the charm of Imbolc.  Imbolc is a time of celebration and ritual, often honoring Brighid, the goddess of the hearth. This is also a time of new beginnings and of purification. It is the time when we begin to bid farewell to winter to make way for spring. It is a dark time, but one where joy and light abound within the darkness. Thanks to everyone who accompanied this set with immense energy, it was magical to conduct that beautiful orchestra of dancing souls. Love always ;)
