This album joins together 14 musicians from different backgrounds, each contributing in telling a different part of the story.

The album project, under the name "The Flood", includes 14 tracks, separated into two parts, before-after the flood. The album will be released October 23rd  on Bandcamp. For this special release, Mediteranos has prepared a limited edition double-cassette package, including the two parts of "The Flood", each cassette including 7 pieces and the artwork. Other than the diverse soundscape of the album (Alternative, Electronic, Drone, Beat, Noise, Ambient, Folk, Ritual).

Kamil Manqus is the fifth studio album of Ramallah-based electronic musician Muqata’a. Due out on Simone Trabucchi’s Hundebiss Records on February 5th, 2021, the 8-track album sees the artist combining sounds from live radio, drum machines, synths, and field recordings, the results range between harsh beats, abstract tones, and glitch.

Using Simya’, an ancient Arabic science of combining numbers and alphabets to communicate with the unseen, the voices of his ancestors appear throughout the album. Samples of memories are being fragmented and restitched through each track.

Kamil Manqus is Arabic for “whole imperfect” or “perfect imperfect,” a way of working for Muqata’a whose music seeks ways of listening that uses error not as mistakes but as possible breaks in an otherwise closed system.

The artwork was made by Basel Abbas & Ruanne Abou-Rahme, who’s work reflects on ideas of non-linearity in the form of returns, amnesia and deja vu, have been working closely with Muqata’a in the past years.
