For my latest mix, I really wanted to go in a different direction from what you'd usually hear from me. With Valentine's Day and City Hearts LA coming up this Saturday, I wanted to dedicate a mix entirely to what I think is the most important thing in the world, Love. There's a reason Love is the main theme that drives our festivals and Desert Hearts​ Records. Our community has been able to open the hearts and minds of so many incredible people and our goal is to ultimately share that message of love with the rest of the world.  <3

So this mix is dedicated to all of you lovers out there. Whether you're single or in a relationship, if you have love to give I believe the universe will return that love to you. Some of these songs are new and some are old, but they've all had a profound impact on my life over the years and I wanted to put something together that really makes you feel. We fell in love with Halsey the first time we heard her never mind seeing what she looked like. Her records are killer, and 'Ghost' was one of them that truly stood out as soon as we heard it. When we were working on it we were lucky enough to be down in the carribean soaking in the sun, so we definitely were inspired by the vibes that were around us. Definitely a bit of a new territory for us, but we were excited to try something new. Be on the look out for a bunch of new releases!

I still play all my music for my mom even though her reaction is the same each time.  "That's nice Scotty , now can you please lower that" (Insert Long Island mom accent)

My long time buddy @realDJPAIGE brought this idea up to me one day and I couldn't resist.  Being an 80's baby and having older siblings this track was a staple in my house .

Below you'll find some fun facts about some of the lyrics to "Land Down Under" which before I did some research made no sense to me.

FUN FACTS:

Fried out Kombi : a broken-down van.  It came from the VW Kombivan which was very popular in the '60s and early '70s, especially with surfers and hippies.

Head full of Zombie : Zombie was a particularly strong batch of marijuana which was floating around Australia for a long time. People called it "Zombie Grass."

Vegemite Sandwich : Vegemite is a fermented yeast spread that is pretty much a national institution in Australia. 

Regarding the lyrics, "Where beer does flow, and men chunder..." Chunder is Aussie slang meaning to vomit.
