Spirituality is not about trying to get your practises perfect. It's all about innocent devotion! Bhai Baljit Singh tells two beautiful stories exemplifying how humility, innocence and devotion brought them towards Vaheguru (God). In the first story, we learn about Vidur who even with a low class and being from a poor family, was visited by Krishan Ji, who was the Avtar of Duapur. This Sakhi is mentioned by Bhagat Kabir Ji, Guru Arjan Dev Ji & Bhai Gurdas Ji to help us with our devotion and understand what really matters in getting closer to Vaheguru (God).

In the second Sakhi, we hear the story about Mai Bhaagpari, an old lady from Kashmir who begged for the darshan of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and waited patiently - watch the video to find out what happens!

Bhai Rajan Singh beautifully sings the shabad that tells the sakhi of Vidur.

Maaroo, Fifth Mehla:

ਖੁਲਿਆ ਕਰਮੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਭਈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈ ॥
khuliaa karam kirapaa bhiee ttaakur keeratan har har gaiee ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Good karma has dawned for me - my Lord and Master has become merciful. I sing the Kirtan of the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਥਾਕਾ ਪਾਏ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਈ ਸਗਲੀ ਧਾਈ ॥੧॥
sram thaakaa paae bisraamaa miT giee sagalee dhaiee ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੧।
My struggle is ended; I have found peace and tranquility. All my wanderings have ceased. ||1||

ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
ab moh jeevan padhavee paiee ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਣ-ਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ,
Now, I have obtained the state of eternal life.

ਚੀਤਿ ਆਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
cheet aaio man purakh bidhaataa sa(n)tan kee saranaiee ||1|| rahaau ||
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The Primal Lord, the Architect of Destiny, has come into my conscious mind; I seek the Sanctuary of the Saints. ||1||Pause||

ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਨਿਵਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਬੈਰਾਈ ॥
kaam karodh lobh moh nivaare nivare sagal bairaiee ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਕਾਮ ਕੋ੍ਰਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ (ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
Sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment are eradicated; all my enemies are eliminated.

ਸਦ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਹਾਜਰੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਜਰੁ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਭਇਓ ਦੂਰਾਈ ॥੨॥
sadh hajoor haajar hai naajar kateh na bhio dhooraiee ||2||
ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ ।੨।
He is always ever-present, here and now, watching over me; He is never far away. ||2||

ਸੁਖ ਸੀਤਲ ਸਰਧਾ ਸਭ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
sukh seetal saradhaa sabh pooree hoe sa(n)t sahaiee ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
In peace and cool tranquility, my faith has been totally fulfilled; the Saints are my Helpers and Support.

ਪਾਵਨ ਪਤਿਤ ਕੀਏ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
paavan patit ke'ee khin bheetar mahimaa kathan na jaiee ||3||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਠੰਢ ਤੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਮੰਗ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।੩।
He has purified the sinners in an instant; I cannot express His Glorious Praises. ||3||

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਸਗਲ ਭੈ ਖੋਏ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਚਰਣ ਓਟਾਈ ॥
nirabhau bhe sagal bhai khoe gobidh charan oTaiee ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋ ਗਏ ।
I have become fearless; all fear has departed. The feet of the Lord of the Universe are my only Shelter.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੪॥੬॥
naanak jas gaavai ttaakur kaa rain dhinas liv laiee ||4||6||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਾਨਕ ਭੀ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੬।
Nanak sings the Praises of his Lord and Master; night and day, he is lovingly focused on Him. ||4||6||
