ਸੋਰਠਿ ਬੀਜਾ ਗਾਵੀਐ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਘੜਾ ਵਾਤੀ।
soratt beejaa gaaveeaai jas sughaRaa vaatee|
The excellent song of Sorath and Bija is sung in every direction.

ਸਸੀ ਪੁੰਨੂੰ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਹੁਇ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤੀ।
sasee pu(n)noo(n) dhosatee hui jaat ajaatee|
The love of Sassi and Punnü, though of different castes, is everywhere spoken of.

ਮੇਹੀਵਾਲ ਨੋ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਨੈ ਤਰਦੀ ਰਾਤੀ।
meheevaal no sohanee nai taradhee raatee|
The fame of Sohni who used to swim the Chenab river in the ht to meet Mahival is well known.

ਰਾਂਝਾ ਹੀਰ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਓਹੁ ਪਿਰਮ ਪਰਾਤੀ।
raa(n)jhaa heer vakhaaneeaai oh piram paraatee|
Ranjha and Hir are renowned for the love they bore each other.

ਪੀਰ ਮੁਰੀਦਾ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਗਾਵਨਿ ਪਰਭਾਤੀ ॥੧॥

But superior to all is the love the disciples bear their Guru.They sing it at the ambrosial hour of morning.

"Sri Nanak Prakash is a detailed historical account of the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It was written by Mahakavi (great poet) Bhai Santokh Singh Ji in 1824 (AD), and represents one of the most comprehensive and beautifully written accounts of Guru Ji’s life. It is usually associated as a part of the greater text known as Sri Gurpartap Suraj Granth (aka Suraj Prakash) which details the historical accounts of all 10 Guru Sahibs in poetic form. It is an ocean of bliss, knowledge and experience. It is said that if one listen to the history of the lives of all 10 Gurus through these texts with complete devotion and faith, they can reach enlightenment.

When we open our hearts to receive the Guru's wisdom, we are receiving the Guru's grace in that moment. That grace allows us to start seeing what is the truth and what is false. That wisdom then takes us to a place of yearning to want to experience that Truth and that yearning is what then positions us to receive Vaheguru Ji's (God's) grace. Only through the grace of the One can we experience and realise the One.
