Alex Boucher is a writer and musician based near Colchester, Essex.

Keeping a journal during the 90s, he has a detailed archive of his experience as a drummer and performer in acts including Three And A Half Minutes, Travis Cut, NV and Jaff.


After building a loyal fan base in Harlow and surrounding areas, their early demo tapes and moody live performances started to pick up interest from a growing number of record companies.

Three And A Half Minutes went on to be tour support for Kingmaker, Sultans Of Ping FC, Ned's Atomic Dustbin and The Pogues. They also opened up for the infamous Suede/Mega City Four/Blur concert in July of ‘92 - which some people regard as one of the early milestones in Britpop.

In the end, 3 music industry execs (Mike Smith, Andy Saunders & Ben Wardle) teamed up to create Scared Hitless, an indie label to help release their first EP.
PEEP EP was released in August 1992, getting Single of the Week in the NME followed by enthusiastic support from Steve Lamacq. 

Their 2nd EP, Bled Me Dry was released in March 1993 on cd and vinyl. By this point they had been signed by US label Hollywood Records. Bled Me Dry EP was aired on Radio 1’s evening session and was featured on the soundtrack to the film “Son In Law”. With a record deal, publishing deal and new management in place, the band headed to Rockfield Studios in Wales to record their 3rd EP with prominent producer, Hugh Jones.

However, with a change in musical direction, growing conflicts and record label concerns, this 3rd record never saw the light of day. After a disastrous return gig at the Mean Fiddler, the cracks began to show. A band member left, some of the band carried on under a different name. But even more troubles got in the way, leading to the rest of the band calling it a day.
