One Movement Records was founded and launched in 1993 by ex-pat British producer & DJ Matt Hayward. It was a time when there weren't a thousand genres and subgenres of music, there was mostly just 'good music or bad music'.......

All the acts featured on the label were Australian or Australian based and the music ranged in style from Jazz, Acid Jazz, Funk and Soul, through to Hip Hop, Trip Hop and Drum & Bass. 

Operating out of an office in Surry Hills Sydney, the label was distributed via Shock/MDS (Oz) and Timewarp (UK). 

One Movement Record’s "Undertones" compilation series of Australian Acid Jazz, Soul and Funk helped bring worldwide attention to Australian artists such as U.T.E, Hatman, Wicked Beat Sound System, Raised By Wolves, The Aphelionauts, Step it Up, Deborah Gray and Rani amongst others. 

Over a period of five years between 1993 and 1998 the label released six LP’s, two E.P’s and a couple of singles, all on Vinyl and or CD, including compilations and individual artist's releases.

The last release in 1998 was a collection of Australian Drum & Bass called “Force One”. To this day this LP is acknowledged as being the very first Australian Drum & Bass compilation ever produced, and most of the tracks were written specifically for it.

Hailing from a music background of Acid Jazz and David Morales mix tapes in the early 90's to becoming a member of the acclaimed House Beat Radio show (HBR) on Dance100FM ( Australia ). 



The name Altūm was inspired by the Latin phrase ‘Dūc in Altūm’ meaning; cast out into the deep. 

Altūm draws his inspiration from this ancient philosophy and enjoys exploring mysterious soundscapes. 

Focusing mostly on the deeper side of minimal, house & techno, the audience can expect diverse sets with some unexpected twists to keep the crowd guessing.
