Undoubtedly 2010 was a very hard year for most of the inhabitants of the planet. We all know that we are paying the excesses of a few and the sad thing is they haven’t searched effective solutions to avoid a recurrence; once again they just have put a simple band aid. All that will change when we, the victims, are angry, and once and for all we punish all those speculators who play with our lives and those of our loved ones, as simple as that.

In our case we could take refuge in music, which has given us some joy during 2010, and also some bad times, because when you do things right there is always someone willing to piss on your work. Fortunately, the professionalism always makes a profit.

We started 2010 with public recognition of our achievements over the previous year, winning the "Best Breakthrough Producer” at last year’s Breakspoll. We also had the opportunity to act for the party at club Fabric in London (UK).

After Breakspoll, we released two samplers as an introduction of our debut album, both breaking into Beatport’s Top 1, as well as our production “Ultimate”, made with Access Denied. We also worked with people of label Lucky Break in a remix of “Lost Your Mind” by B-Phreak and Liz Melody. All that gave us a great result and critics.


On November 2010, after setting our own label Mental Machine Muzik, we released our first album: “Malditos BASS-STAR-DOS!” which includes 18 songs, taking the first places in the Breaks sales charts on major stores. On Beatport Breaks chart, we could set 8 of the new tracks in the Top 10 for several weeks, showing once again our know-how in music production.

We invite you to remember all what we have released last year, so bear them in mind in this Breakspoll edition, or just enjoy them. Thanks for your attention and your support.

It has been a while, too long in fact, since we’ve featured a guest mix. This one comes to us courtesy of the lovely and talented, Dassier Chams, of Malaga, Spain. Big thanks to our old friend, Colombo, for the introduction. 

Dassier, a young Spanish producer, has made her mark in the United Kingdom music scene by collaborating with some of the industry's brightest stars. Her passion and dedication have led her to create her very own record label, 333 Frequency. 

Colombo, a true force to be reckoned with, has earned multiple accolades as the best Breakbeat producer in the world. With over two decades of experience under his belt, he has continuously pushed boundaries and proven his unmatched talent. His collaboration with 333 Frequency is a testament to his dedication to the craft.

Para nuestro set número dos con artistas invitados, tenemos una sesión de breakbeat actual, enérgica y elegante a cargo de nuestros amigos N-GROSSMAN y D-XYOXX, DJs gaditanos y fundadores del canal de SoundCloud 45'5.

Este dúo siempre nos tiene acostumbrados a lo mejor. Por un lado, D-XYOXX se ha consolidado como un referente en eventos multigénero, especialmente en las provincias de Cádiz y Sevilla, participando en citas de gran calibre como Electrolunch, y actuando en clubs destacados como Sala X o Sala Even, entre otros. Influenciado principalmente por sonidos contundentes y psicodélicos, siempre ofrece una selección muy cuidada y trabajada en todos sus directos.

Por otro lado, N-GROSSMAN lleva toda una vida dedicada al breakbeat. En los últimos años ha mostrado sus mezclas en eventos por toda Andalucía, compartiendo cartel con grandes figuras de la escena breakbeat nacional como Mbreaks, Hankook, Orebeat, Baymont Bross, Norbak, Perfect Kombo, y artistas internacionales como Beat Assassins y Specimen A. Un auténtico apasionado del género que siempre llega preparado con sus mejores pistas para no dejar al público ni un segundo de respiro.

I've been working hard and keeping things quiet this past 6 months but I've taken a small step back from Djing (still playing live events) to finally put my time into production.

Last week I got my first track signed which will be forthcoming on a Classic Trance based label, more info to follow on that, but I'm also sharing a remix that I just finished on Sasha's timeless classic track - Xpander

Colombo is these days one of the most successful artists in the whole breaks scene. After smashing every single breaks chart out there with his previous project BSD and Kultur + Colombo, he came right back to the arena with his absolutely stunning Exposed EP series, achieving many number ones with all three parts of the EP, including one of the biggest hits so far in 2011, Everybody, which sat at Beatport's number one for over 3 months.

BSD (BASS-STAR-DOS) is a DJs / producers duo from France.

Their beginning in the world of music goes back to 1998, when they started producing Hip-Hop and Trip-Hop developing their first works, own and for other artists. The influence of Fluke, Renegade Soundwave, Lionrock, Anthony Rother, and Jackal & Hyde, among others, led them to experiment slowly with Elektro-Breaks and House.

In 2008, the BSD project was consolidated, and after playing several times on various radio shows, they signed for iBreaks Records label. At the same time they won the remix contest by Rennie Pilgrem and his label, Thursday Club Recordings.

Since their first release, Intoxikated Muzik EP, they were very well received by audiences, DJs and critics, and their singles achieved many Top 1 in the Breaks sales charts on major stores. Finally, their meteoric rise was recognized in the 2010 edition of the Breakspoll Awards, where BSD were awarded as “Best Breakthrough Producer”.

As they would need a greater control over their music, BSD established their own label in late 2010, Mental Machine Muzik, where they released a debut album entitled “Malditos BASS-STAR-DOS!”

Having shaken the Breaks scene in just over a year, they decided in early 2011 to diversify their style and start producing House and Indie Dance, collaborating with other producers and vocalists.
