Z Sounds of the Earth é um projecto de Reggae/World Music de Lisboa criado em Fevereiro de 2019, fruto da fusão criativa de João Machado aka Peter's e André Leal (The Most Wanted, Like the Man Said, entre outros). 

Este projecto vibra no pulsar do Reggae, do Afro, do Jazz e do Soul, respeitando as suas raízes.

A primeira EP do projecto conta com a participação de músicos com os mais diversos backgrounds. José Lencastre, Vinicius de Magalhães, Delmithy Sounds, Soulsista Jo e Cristiano Domingos foram a família que embarcou na viagem do single de estreia "Wisdom Through Vibration".

Neste single propõe-se através da vibração, uma reflexão sobre o mundo, apoiada na ideia de preservação da espiritualidade e sabedoria.

Fikir Amlak & King Alpha - Lakshmi & Lakshmi Dub

Veteran Jamaican deejay Tippa Lee returns to the fold with a playful twist on the classic love song, professing his adoration for sweet reggae music and all it's provided him. 

As per usual, the enigmatic Naram is on riddim duties with a retro-futuristic piece of rub-a-dub mixing live Simmons drums, acoustic piano and a menagerie of colourful synths.

Paired with a stripped back dub version, mixed to tape, and mastered for full effect by New Zealand’s Downbeat Mastering, this is another essential 45 from the Red Robin camp.

We have been long thinking to press this  "Far East dub sound of future roots" tune on vinyl and finally it's to drop it on a special edition 7 inch polyvinyl. It is cut on a limited run of 30 copies and it includes a special  dubplate cut of the original tune back in 2021 and the bongo dubdubplate cut on the b side!

A few words about the dub recipe, which consists of the following three ingredients, only to be found in Japan:

The Dub creator and producer Shanti-K: He Started making music in 1993. As a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, djembe) and producer (Kalpana Studio), he has been providing riddims for various artists, releasing tunes on vinyl and digital. As a soundman, he founded alongside “Light-On Super-Disco” in 2020 the “Dub And Future” Sound system, producing tunes also for other sound systems.

The female melodica player Aki Mittoo: Coming from the town of Aichi and already a regular on the label, she is known through her collaborations with Dub Cmd, SistaSara and Soul Fire. Nevertheless, this is her first release on Dubophonic Records as a member of a full Far East crew. She has a license as a Yamaha piano instructor and a Suzuki Musical Instrument melodion instructor. her playing Style is cultivated through her experience as instrumentalist in different genres throughout the years.

The Kette drum player and manufacturer Goja Bongos: He lives in the town of Hyogo and he likes earthy music: reggae, African, afro-Cuban and Latin. After his visit in Jamaica in 2005, experiencing the authentic reggae music, he returned to japan and in 2009 he started manufacturing kette drums. Since 2015, he has been in charge of the percussion in the roots reggae band of Sister Maki, while his passion for drumming guided him to form in 2019 his own nyahbinghi project. "Goja" is a local dialect of Banshu that means "crazy"! If you enter the circle of Nyahbinghi, the drums of Goja Bongos will shake the earth with a dangerous presence.

Punaman - We Rule Riddim

Enjoy this new reference to the rhythm of dancehall!

Puppa Saga is an Italian DJ from the old school of the sound system. He has recently started recording new songs in the studio, but we are talking about a pure sound system DJ, raised in the pure rub a dub school.
We have been able to see him entertain the massive being part of Echotronix Sound. Rub A Dub and Dancehall artists such as Super Cat or Early B are his greatest reference and this makes him a tough MC, reminiscent of the DJs of yesteryear, and it's just the style we love.

George Palmer meets Puppa Saga for this collaboration with the 90's flavour. The DJ rides the rhythm without stopping, with a hard and consistent style. His lyrics speak of his experiences and adventures in dancehall and his skills to defeat soundboys.

Dancehall Party Version

Nothing like some good fresh reggae riddims with a little dub touch. As you know, at Fat Bird Recordings we have a wide range of rhythms in the spectrum of the 80s vibes that we love and are so passionate about. George Palmer has been producing new riddims and here's our first pack of riddims.

This pack is specially designed for all singers, deejays and entertainers who want to link up with the rub a dub sound and bring the authentic vibes and orginal riddims to their selection. These rhythms are free of rights and once downloaded they are available to be used without commercial purposes.

The pack begins with a rhythm played by George Palmer on the Casio-Tone Mt-41. It recalls rhythms similar to Gunshot - Anthony Johnson and that kind of vibes.

Then the pack brings more rhythms composed and interpreted by Palmer at George's Box Studio, his little studio in the Basque Country, with his analog and digital machines, simulating the sound of Jammys, Boby Digital etc.

Also a true classic like the Far East Riddim was re created by George Palmer, using Drum machines and synthesizers similar to those used by players of instruments of that era, such as Firehouse Crew...  more
