Hailing from Germany’s leafy heartland via Leipzig, Nadine Moser has found a spiritual home in Berlin for the last 12 years. The capital has provided space for her to flourish as an artist whose work focuses on both the exploration of new sounds, as well as a political energy so key to the city. From here, she coordinates a schedule which includes residencies at left-leaning haunts Pudel (Hamburg), Paloma and ://about blank, as well as a radio show on Refuge Worldwide and mentorship of women and non-binary artists for Spoon DJ Workspace. For the music itself, she has a preference for deep, organic sounds, subtle build up and introvert melodies (worth noting here is ambient side project M2N2). Rarely will she release cuts from a live set, which makes Bassiani Podcast 153 a lucky exception. If you do want to count your blessings though, this is number two in the Podcast series: a 138 minute mix from her last visit to the club, packed with shuffling basslines, ethereal synths and libertine energy, lovingly dedicated to the Horoom crowd. Repping an oft overlooked Swiss techno contingent comes the next guest in Bassiani’s podcast series. Basel born and raised Garçon is one of the most promising names to call the bucolic town on the shores of the Rhine his home. He got an early start, mixing from the age of 14 and booked a mere two years later, assiduously cobbling together influences in his early work and soon delivering performances city-wide. First those at Hinterhof (now closed) and then those at local staple Elysia. With musical collaborator Agonis he’s also fired up techno label Amenthia Recordings, an agar dish for like-minded Basel music makers. His own sonic experiments are a purely live affair, and that’s no bad thing. Garçon’s escapades, from Waking Life to Barcelona’s Parallel have honed his voice and made of him an adept hand when faced with the strenuous demands of modulating crowd energy. Nodding to a range of influences across the electronic map he harbours a superlative talent for finding niche sounds at the fringes of common scope. Enter Podcast 208: towering, no-bullshit sounds, an hour of ghostly, mechanical whispers and powerful basslines, earth-shaking and infinitesimally precise techno from this connoisseur selector.

Erik Luebs is a US-born musician and sound designer based in Japan. Eschewing typical genre tropes, Luebs approaches techno with a playfully disruptive technique, reinterpreting the fundamentals using built-from-scratch patches and labyrinthine sequencing. While the labor-intensive process is inspired by a wide range of luminaries such as Mark Fell and Rrose, the resulting music is firmly tied to the dance floor.

Luebs engages in minimal promotion, focusing his efforts instead on producing a series of monthly singles on Bandcamp. Through word of mouth, his unconventional approach to dance music has led to releases on labels such as The Bunker New York, Nous'klaer Audio, performances at DJ Nobu's Future Terror party in Japan and at Draaimolen Festival in Holland.

Mexican-Jamaican dj/producer Andy Martin blends sci-fi techno with Latin Caribbean sounds creating a futuristic edge. His latest album, Antiguos Astronautas, is a musical exploration that merges techno with Native American futurism and has received a positive response from the music community.

This summer he will be performing at renowned European festivals and clubs in Croatia, Spain, France and Germany. 

This set has a deep, dubby, and trippy vibe, with a lot of atmospheric pads mixed with hypnotic rhythms and elements that resemble organic percussion.

The next Dekmantel mix is a wild melting pot of dark, murky techno grooves by @mattikk. A pillar of the Amsterdam underground, the Garage Noord resident has a long history of DJing in the city and is closely connected to your favorite techno labels. He’s the mind behind Delsin Records' Mantis series, collaborating with artists like Forest Drive West, Konduku, Lemna, and Dino Sabatini.

Drawing on UK sound system culture, his selections always carry an experimental edge, whether diving into deep Italian techno or ambient. Usually, he crafts mixes for immersive listening pleasure, but here he makes a rare turn to the dance floor, inspired by his closing set on the UFO2 stage at last year's Dekmantel Festival. Over an hour of powerful, driving grooves and subtle details, sprinkled with new tunes and some personal favorites that span low-end-heavy electro and broken beats.

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.

Let's head back to Fuse on January 4th for two hours of technical, percussive and ambient soul. Intertwining minimalist techno, UK-influenced bass, and polyrhythmic grooves, he kept the listener focused in dreamscapes as he reflected his influences from labels like Nous’klaer, Spazio Disponibile, and his distinct attention to unconventional time signatures or drum work. I’m excited to finally release my brand new single “Raaz.” It’s a melodic techno vibe blended with a touch of iconic Indian vocals — something timeless, yet fresh.

This track is not just music — it’s a storytelling experience. I went deep into sound design, especially for the drop section, which features a monster-like texture and some metallic stabs that I crafted from scratch. I spent countless hours shaping those sounds to match exactly what I had in my mind. It was a challenge, but also a lot of fun — and I’m super happy with the final result.
