Complex001 Resom For Refuge Worldwide

Around 2000 in Leipzig, Germany: Hypezig, gentrification and techno capitalism was in the distant future.

At that time we enthusiastically experienced Resom's first DJ sets in the basement of Giro e.V. in Connewitz, a district of Leipzig where Connwax was also founded. As member of the former Homo Elektrik collective in Leipzig as well as her current home base at ://about blank and Palomabar in Berlin, the avid vinyl collector further developed her style to an expression of organic diversity, emotional spaces and atmospheric energy. Besides, she has been actively engaged in the social and cultural side of the music scene curating the multifaceted conceptual event „The Amplified Kitchen“ in addition to her work for the last ten years teaching DJ workshops for women and regular radio show “Complex” at refugeworldwide.com.

It's all about resonance, feedback, depth, transparency and honesty, connection and shadows. We are happy to share Resom's driving exploration of contemporary techno!

With her mixing prowess, the mix twists between rolling drum workouts, acid laced cuts, deep and moody techno and percussive monsters. Resom blends the elements together into a striking and powerful podcast.

Occasionally when two creative forces cross paths, the result can be an enigmatic exchange of pure inspiration, a web of connections that continually grows with imaginative impulses firing off like synapses in every direction. Such was the case when Unrush-founder Mareena and her dear friend Resom began collaborating at the end of 2020. The resulting project, entitled M2N2, was born as a result of their shared love for all things ambient, with both possessing an extensive catalog of records that spans all of the genre's many facets. Their first appearances solidified the collaboration as a worthy endeavor, with well-received contributions to the CCC Online Festival and gigs in Mexico at the Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato and the Hertzflimmern Event in Mexico City. 

For this month's Unrush mix we are presented with a recording clocking in at just over 2 hours where the two friends playfully react and interact with one another, digging deep into the corners of their respective collections. It's just in time for the warmer days where things can get hectic, a gentle reminder to slow down, be present, and foster the connections you have that enable you to grow...

Hailing from Germany’s leafy heartland via Leipzig, Nadine Moser has found a spiritual home in Berlin for the last 12 years. The capital has provided space for her to flourish as an artist whose work focuses on both the exploration of new sounds, as well as a political energy so key to the city. From here, she coordinates a schedule which includes residencies at left-leaning haunts Pudel (Hamburg), Paloma and ://about blank, as well as a radio show on Refuge Worldwide and mentorship of women and non-binary artists for Spoon DJ Workspace. For the music itself, she has a preference for deep, organic sounds, subtle build up and introvert melodies (worth noting here is ambient side project M2N2). Rarely will she release cuts from a live set, which makes Bassiani Podcast 153 a lucky exception. If you do want to count your blessings though, this is number two in the Podcast series: a 138 minute mix from her last visit to the club, packed with shuffling basslines, ethereal synths and libertine energy, lovingly dedicated to the Horoom crowd. Resom’s techno return to grassroots.

complex is part of this quest - combining different levels of acoustic reflection with themes of the everyday. Radio making is passion for resom - an expression of freedom. And resom wants to be able to express this everywhere else. If it gets too tight, resom meanders on. between the categories of human expressiveness.

this show is a replay of an episode resom created for @refugeworldwide's regeneration festival in October 2022.

the main source of regeneration for resom is sleep - it’s the recovery 
modus, the flight modus, the do not disturb time, time to meditate, 
digest and to mainly dream. sleep is resoms main source of power and 
favourite hobby. in dark times like this a good sleep can do wonders - 
like music can too. to combine those two power sources was a logical 
thing to do. so here is it: two hours of recovery sounds from resoms 
acoustic library. enjoy.

Berlin-based Resom’s meandering electronics have guested the Bassiani Podcast a couple of times, here she gets lost in thought once more for Zenaari Mix 005. This one’s far from a wool-gathering exercise, her selection and mixing are deep, provocative, and wonderfully percipient, little else to expect from someone whose path has encompassed so many different areas. Her work confidently mines a wealth of experience across club residencies and activism, and delivers results that are a pure joy to witness. This one covers every base, from softly gliding synths to slightly more controlled percussive meditations, an exploration of heterogeneous bleeps and ruminant echoes, a dreamy IDM waltz that's worth its weight in silicon.

Ende Juli 2023 - auf dem Acker des Nation of Gondwana Festivals - haben wir ab Mitternacht des zweiten Festivaltags den "Bei Birke" Floor übernommen und zu dritt die musikalische Reise in den frühen Morgen gestaltet. Vor uns ging es sehr schnell zu und um die Tanzenden in ihrem Beat weitergrooven zu lassen, stiegen wir hier ein und fuhren das Tempo langsam runter - in ein wunderschönes Morgengrauen. Dort angekommen, breiteten wir euch einen sehr groovigen Klangteppich aus, voller kleiner Details und mit viel Platz zum Verlustiggehen. Wir freuen uns sehr, dass wir - Erika, Mareena und Resom - euch dorthin begleiten konnten. Viel Spass beim Nachhören!  Danke Team "Bei Birke" und überhaupt an die "Nation of Gondwana" für den praktischen Einblick in eine gelebte Utopie.

At the end of July 2023, on the field of the Nation of Gondwana Festival – in the middle of the night of the second day, we were allowed to take over the musical design of the "Bei Birke" floor and start a journey into the morning with those present. Before we took over it was quite fast, so to let the dancers groove on in their beat, we stepped in and slowly brought down the tempo, into a beautiful dawn. Once there, we spread you a very groovy sound carpet, full of small details and with so much space to get lost. We are very happy that we - Erika, Mareena and Resom - could accompany you there. RESOM @ REFUGE WORLDWIDE 30/09/2023

The great comedown from the radiant warmth of summer is here and with it an opportunity to look inwards and reflect. It's this care or "Fürsorge" we give to ourselves and others that our next guest and dear friend Resom used as a theme for this mix. Recorded live almost exactly one year ago for the Swim crew in Basel, the theme of the event was to explore the concept of softness and the ethics of care. With this in mind, she set out to "send people on an acoustic trip, en route to a comfortable inner sphere - a sphere that cares acoustically also for dynamic and organically created versatile excurses." Indeed, it is this level of intention and care that makes her mixing immersive and healing.

Needless to say, we at Unrush fully embrace this theme and feel it's the perfect time to integrate it into our lives. So make yourself some tea, pause, and take care of yourself with this excursion into sound from Resom.

R 303 Radioとruralのコラボレーション企画として、rural 2025へ出演するアーティストを中心としたプログラムがフェスティバル前後に配信が決定。 世界を舞台に活躍し、本祭でも個性あふれるパフォーマンスを届けてくれるであろうアーティストたちが、R 303 Radioスタジオから違った側面のセットを披露してくれます。 Ginger Coven、またソロとしても出演するErikaとResomがShowgawin名義での出演をはじめとして、様々なアーティストによる特別な公演をお楽しみください。

As part of a collaboration between R 303 Radio and rural, a program centered on artists appearing at rural 2025 will be broadcast before and after the festival. Artists who are active on the world stage and are sure to deliver unique performances at the festival will reveal a different side of themselves from the R 303 Radio studio. Featuring Ginger Coven, as well as Erika and Resom performing under the name Showgawin, along with various other artists, this special performance promises to be an unforgettable experience.

listen to some acoustic findings resom had while touring through japan. this show combines new and old experimentel electronic ambient explorations from this special island, where human behaviour shows an impressive way of respectful living, which combines tradition and forward thinking but of course has it's dark sides aswell.
included in this show is a mini_mix of DJ Uchu from Niigata, who invited resom to play in a small living room like club called love&death, he travelled down to Tokyo and came to see her playing at Unit Club and passed her a CD. now a piece of it found it's way to this show.

The Amplified Kitchen" is a (more or less) interactive panel discussion
with kitchen talk atmosphere. With food being served,  the audience
sitting in a 360° way around the panel the event took place open air in
the garden of ://about blank. The talks are understood as a kind of
"door opener", it shall create awareness and enable following
communication regarding relevant topics around club culture. The series
is running since 2014, taking place when it is needed.

This recording was created on the last panel discussion of the season,
