The latest release from Tash's Movement Recordings finds Lastraw and Nine Collins returning to the label for their debut EP. The former has enjoyed a near decade long career as a producer, showcasing his techno sounds via Exotic Refreshment, Rhythmetic Records and Us and Them Records. Meanwhile, Nine Collins has enjoyed similar success as a DJ, playing some of Greece's trendiest venues such as Tokyo City Bar, Club Division and The Real Rock n Rolla. With a contribution to the Movement Recordings 'Technical Progress' Vol. 11 collection and the Her Kind' EP for label affiliate Astral Records both landing earlier this year, Lastraw and Nine Collins now return to Movement with Wonder Mind', alongside a remix from Circle of Life.

The duo's keen sense for the dance floor continues with the final selection Lost Generation'. Led by a warm yet punchy groove, it's charged rhythms and mystical atmospheres unite for a captivating storyboard. Driving and energetic, astral motifs and mounds of pulsating bass delight across the first act, as whimsical motifs add depth and space leading into the main break. Ethereal and cosmic throughout the interlude, it's flair for the dramatic continues to rise with a trail of sonic artefacts and cinematic pads sparking an understated apex and charged finale.

The release concludes with Circle of Life returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of Lost Generation'. The Serbian artist made his label debut in 2019 with the well-received 'Black Light' EP. The next calendar year would see Circle of Life forge a strong bond with the label, delivering three originals and a remix across three excellent releases. Also finding a home on Beat Boutique, BeatFreak Recordings, Suara and Sudbeat Music, Circle of Life now returns to Movement Recordings with a deadly remix of Lost Generation'. Electrically charged with buoyant beats and a shapelier take on the groove, it's buzzing energy beams brightly from the outset. Combining robust rhythms with striking electronics and a dazzling array of drums makes for a hugely exhilarating first act. Segueing into emotive territory, the main break melts down to a glow of impassioned chord stabs and fluttery sonics, as frayed percussion and poignant key changes rise towards a groovy finale. A brilliant remix from Circle of Life which rounds out a superb debut EP for Lastraw and Nine Collins. Highly recommended.

German techno and house composer Tim Engelhardt takes you on a deep dive into his peculiar-yet-relatable world of musical meanderings with Idiosynkrasia. True to the nature of idiosyncrasy, the album is more than the sum of its parts.

Idiosynkrasia is an ode to the inspiration Tim finds in all kinds of spaces and places: each cut woven from the same cloth of meticulously formed melodic structures and expertly crafted harmonies, gently amplified and unfettered by genre. From the opening track, its clear that Tim has a profound awareness of rhythm and sound, his background as a pianist lending an easy fluidity to the album as it expands and contracts to tell a story which is gentle, humble and reflective.

Using granular processed recordings of piano, floating strings and other instruments to transmute emotions like love, nostalgia, vulnerability and longing, the album shifts through meditative, flow-state inducing tracks, morphing into cuts designed for dancing it all out.

Take it straight, mix it up or down: Idiosynkrasia is cinematic in form and orchestral in structure, each track is marked with Tims unique sonic signature and careful attention to instrumentation.

Inhale the spirited and lively flow; exhale and surrender into epiphanic moments: this is an album that will catalyse deep breaths, reflection and a different way of thinking.

PREMIERE: Tim Engelhardt - Kala (Original Mix) [Stil Vor Talent]

'For its 22nd EP, Infinite Depth is welcoming the French Nohak on the label. The EP consists out of five impressive originals, with ‘Nebula’ as title track. The collection of tracks can be recognized by its darker progressive ambience with now and then trancy influences.

The first track, called ‘Omega’, already shows particular elements which are characteristic for Nohak’s sound, which he presents through this EP. During the track there is a constant dance going on between unexpected high pitched synth, female vocal shots and raw synths. A dance that starts at the beginning of the track and flows over into the next one.

This next track is the title track ‘Nebula’. In this one the hypnotizing trance influenced elements are developing throughout the first half of the track, giving you a harmonious feeling. Right at the drop this developments gets stopped by short synths and details, all communicating with each other. While this communication is going on, the hypnotizing elements are coming back, bringing the track to a peaceful end. 

The third track is called ‘Ixion’ and carries a darker mood. The tracks has an ongoing flow with well balanced components, which are corresponding each other. This rolls you unnoticed into the first break, giving you a refreshing, but uplifting moment in between this ongoing flow. After this moment heavier elements are striking and descending towards the end of the track.

‘Ophiuchus’ is representing the darker side of the EP. Its gloomy bass and imposing synths are perfectly combined with higher and hopeful aspects. This combinations all works towards one impressive moment, where it all bursts apart. 
The final track of the EP ‘Book Of Universe’, is stepping up the groove and covers the most important elements mentioned before into one track. Also Nohak managed to add some more interesting tricks, which all together form a composition that could be seen as a perfect summary of the full EP. '
