With the succes I have with my arrangement of Pink Floyd's "Echoes", I decided to tackle another masterpiece: Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Because arranging only the first part (I to VI) is kind of boring, I just tried to make the whole uncut piece as it was probably intended. So here is SOYCD parts I-IX for wind orchestra, enjoy!

For this score, I used the CD of the album "Wish You Were Here" as an audio source.

A joyful tune, often used in family parties (in case of a particularly boring one).

This song has to be one of Sting's most interesting works, and not only because of his poem-like lyrics. The 4/5 groove created some unique rythms in the drums, which I think is quite hard to play. Luckily for me, my drummer friend Thomas de Graaf has been practicing this song for many years, and he was able to make me an exeptionally good recording for my cover! I played the melody and backing with my bassoon, and added some keys and melodic percussion for good measure. Enjoy the recording!

It has "crazy" in the name so crazy it is. This is 220 instrument modules and just under 500 channels playing a tribute to one of my all-time favorite bands.

Minor structural difference: A long period of silence that resulted from omitting the wind noise foley has been shortened since 10 seconds of silence was a bit much.
