Tony is a self taught drummer and percussionist, currently living in Northampton. His drumming career began at the age of nine having watched and listened to various drummers at concerts, Pentecostal churches and online.

Through Tony’s journey to date He has played for various unsigned artists and events ranging from prisons to large open air events. His drumming style has developed over the years influenced by drumming heroes such as Dennis Chambers, Benny Greb and Tony Royster. His personal drumming style is a fusion of many music genres including Jazz, Gospel, R & B, 80’s Funk and Soul, Reggae, Rock and African Drums.

In addition to playing, Tony is the proprietor of a Northampton based studio and drum school called Kingdom Drummerz. Through one-two-one tuition and group workshops his mission is to empower drummers to take territories in their music, applying the same principles to everyday life.

Chequered is a exciting new function band. All the members have many years of experience, working for some of the biggest artists and shows such as Westlife, China Crisis, The Wiz, Abba Tribute, Alexander ONeil, Corinne Bailey Rae, just to mention a few.

Chequered is a five piece band led by the lead singer Samuel Hendricks.
Sam's soulful pop vocals and his extensive musical ability  fused with an accomplished team makes Chequered a unique function band,
 that not only offers a professional service, but also guarantees you have an eye catching foot stomping performance that will make any event memorable!


This band has no limits to what type of music they can perform, but specialize in predominantly modern pop as well as the good old 70s 80s and 90s soul classics. Song requests for your event will be gladly welcomed subject to a months noticed prior to the event.
