Kieron Boothe is a British rapper and Illustrator hailing from East London. He represents a new wave of UK artists whose music is as much rooted in jazz and soul as in new styles. ‘Out Of Sight’ is the first single from his upcoming EP Views From The Bottom, his second solo-release with Melting Pot Music. With artwork by the man himself. 

Raised in Newham, East London, with family ties in Jamaica (his grandfather is a cousin of reggae legend Ken Boothe), Kieron started rapping at the young age of 11, first emerged on the scene in 2012 and has dropped a total of seven projects since. He has contributed to the first volume of The Silhouettes Project and he has recently been featured on songs by edbl, KeepVibesNear and Nikhil Beats. Graduating in Graphic Design from University of the Arts London has given Kieron the advantage of being able to produce branding and marketing material for his own releases as well as a range of other artists both underground and commercial alike.

Portland, OR-based songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist POSY (aka Rudy Klobas) returns to Bastard Jazz with a new single, "Better Days," featuring Natalie Slade on vocals. Further embracing the analog approach of his breakout "Abroad" EP, POSY has utilized reel-to-reel tape and entirely live instrumentation to create lush, cinematic soundscapes equally inspired by early 70s Ennio Morricone scores, Young-Holt Unlimited and contemporary lo-fi sounds.

B. Bravo - Fly Bye (Kodak Remix)

Portland based musician and artist POSY returns to Bastard Jazz for his second EP on the label, "I Know A Place". Moving to the left of some of the Lo-Fi influences of his first record, the new EP brings in more sophisticated instrumental work and jazz influences, working with a slew of guest musicians to set the mood more dusty than digital. Things kick off with "Aoi Yume", a beatless mood piece with lush keys and saxophone, while "Better Days" featuring Natalie Slade is a lifting piece of 70s inspired smooth R&B. "I Know A Place" featuring Brandon Lee Cierley layers horns and harps into an easy listening atmospheric piece with a modern edge while "Seshi" sounds like a 5 piece band playing in a mid-century modern space station. Lastly, "Message To Jun" ends the EP on an uptempo note with flute, live bass and keys, and a drumbreak that's beginning to be sampled for a hip-hop record. A big step forward for this bright young producer.

Rising Dutch producer Afroham releases ‘Online’, his final single before the release of debut EP ‘Quantum Love’. The 26-year-old musician from Rotterdam is fusing neo-soul, lofi and hip-hop in his very own style and fashion. ‘Online’ features Swiss singer Djemeia, best known for her work with Melodiesinfonie and Slum Village. 

On ‘Quantum Love’, Afroham (and a close group of musical friends) addresses love and rejection in the digital age, topics Millennials and Gen Z are oh so familiar with. Appropriately, Afroham and singer Ginge (who appears on two tracks) first met on Tinder and started dating. But instead of becoming a couple they ended up writing songs together. Further guests on ‘Quantum Love’ include producers/musicians Cocabona, Ian Ewing, Birocratic and Misha (all household names on the international beat & lofi scene). 

Born Nathan Avraham, Afroham's artist name is a playful take on his surname and his hairdo. His superpowers also include creating visual art via video and 3d animation (despite being colourblind). Afroham has directed and animated a full-length movie that accompanies the release of the EP and its three singles. The artwork for all four releases comes from Parisian artist MC Blue Matter who in turn was inspired by the “Quantum Love” film when he worked on the covers. 

Afroham has released a sling of successful singles on labels like Steezyasfuck and Chillhop (where he also works during daytime). His current playlist has music from artists like H.E.R., SiR, J. Dilla, Men I Trust & Mndsgn.
