Description: Following the release of Donda 2 on the Stem Player in February 2022, Kanye West, also known as Ye, initially began working on his 11th studio album alongside a collaborative project with James Blake and No I.D. titled WAR. However, due to controversies surrounding Kanye's comments in late 2022, WAR was scrapped. Work on Y3, another highly anticipated project, slowed down in early 2023 after Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign started focusing on the Vultures albums.

By August 2024, Kanye had found new inspiration following a Vultures listening party in South Korea. After the event, Ye reportedly resumed work on solo music, planning to hold a bigger listening party in October. Kanye further hinted at a solo project when he held a listening party in China on August 30, 2024, using only the Yen symbol to represent himself, unlike previous Vultures events, which included Ty Dolla $ign's dollar sign. During this event, he previewed "Preacher Man", a track intended for his solo album, sparking rumors that Vultures 3 had been scrapped.

On September 28, 2024, Kanye confirmed the title of his next solo album as "Bully" during a listening party in China, where he debuted a new song, "Beauty and the Beast." While working on the album, Kanye spent time in Tokyo, where he reunited with artists like Baby Keem, Don Toliver, Sean Leon, and Che Pope, hinting at potential collaborations. Despite rumors of personal challenges, Kanye was seen with his wife, Bianca Censori, in Tokyo during this time, debunking claims of their breakup.
