[BTRY'063] JENNISEK - "POINT OF NO RETURN" [2019]


Elias Pavlidis aka. Jennisek is a Greek/Palestinian producer who works preferably with modular synthesizers to produce his music.

Mainly inspired by Cyberpunk, futurism and hard Sci-Fi, he incorporates such elements into his music and gives the listener a vicarious experience of a futuristic dystopia trough it.

The Athens based producer is a computer engineer/programmer by profession and this has been combined together with his passion for electronic music. Because of this he had done 2 performances at major festivals, CTM (Berlin) and Unsound (Krakow), as part of music and technology oriented workshops.

Now he has teamed up with "Battery Park Studio" to drop his first release ever in the underground Electro scene. You will dive into a 6 track journey full of modular synthesis and futuristic electro beats.

Uwe war ein einzigartiger Typ. Er lebte in einer kleinen Wohnung im Herzen von Berlin und hatte zwei große Leidenschaften: 🥦und Techno. Jeder, der Uwe kannte, wusste, dass seine Wochenenden eine exzessive Mischung aus basslastigen Beats und dicken Rauchwolken waren.

Eines Samstags, nachdem er seinen Lieblings-Joint gedreht hatte, beschloss Uwe, dass es Zeit für ein neues Abenteuer war. Er hatte von einem geheimen Techno-Rave gehört, der tief im Wald stattfand. Der perfekte Ort, um seine beiden Leidenschaften zu kombinieren. Also schnappte er sich seine Bong, zog sein schrillstes Neon-Outfit an und machte sich auf den Weg.

Als Uwe im Wald ankam, fand er eine bunte Menge von Rave-Enthusiasten, die bereits zu den treibenden Rhythmen tanzten. Die DJs drehten die Platten, und die Lichtshow war so intensiv, dass es fast so aussah, als ob die Bäume selbst tanzen würden. Uwe war begeistert. Er setzte sich auf einen Baumstumpf, zündete seinen Joint an und inhalierte tief.

Plötzlich erschien ein kleines Eichhörnchen vor ihm. Uwe, der in diesem Moment von einer besonders intensiven Welle der Entspannung übermannt wurde, starrte das Eichhörnchen an und fragte: „Hey kleiner Freund, willst du auch mal probieren?“

Zur Überraschung aller nahm das Eichhörnchen den Joint mit seinen kleinen Pfoten und zog einen kräftigen Zug. Dann begann es, im Takt der Musik zu tanzen, als ob es schon immer ein Raver gewesen wäre. Die Menge jubelte, und das Eichhörnchen wurde schnell zum Star des Abends. Es war der beste Tänzer auf dem gesamten Rave!

Am nächsten Morgen wachte Uwe auf einer Waldlichtung auf, umgeben von leeren Wasserflaschen, leuchtenden Armbändern und schlafenden Rave-Besuchern. Das Eichhörnchen saß immer noch neben ihm und hielt den Rest des Joints. Uwe grinste breit und sagte: „Das war die beste Nacht meines Lebens.“

Von diesem Tag an hatte Uwe immer einen kleinen Vorrat an Haselnüssen dabei, wenn er zu Raves ging. Schließlich wollte er seinen neuen Freund nie enttäuschen. Und das Eichhörnchen? Es wurde zur Legende in der Berliner Techno-Szene, bekannt als DJ Nussknacker.

Und so lebte Uwe glücklich weiter, immer mit einem Lächeln auf den Lippen und einem Beat im Herzen, während er die perfekte Balance zwischen🥦 und Techno fand.Alle Mixe sind spontan, nie geplant.

Battery Park Studio is a phenomenon, one of those cases where things just seem to have come into alignment at just the right time and place. At just two years old, the label, with its humble beginnings, has catapulted itself into becoming one of the most prolific digital labels of our new era.

Featuring most of the biggest names in the scene, from Bass Junkie and Radioactive Man as "The Brink", to Max Durante, Luke Eargoggle and Paul Blackford and beyond, the imprint has had an energetic and enthusiastic drive to keep the foot on the gas pedal and continue releasing title after title of high quality material that doesn't seem to disappoint or seize to amaze the mind of all of its loyal followers.

Launching in 2010 with the release of Prototype's "Battery Park Electro", the label gave itself a strong head start with this funky, forward thinking, but well-rooted release that featured a great display of the label mastermind's production abilities. The release was followed up by another instant classic, this time with a very special collaboration between the artist, and up and coming German female composer and producer "Unique", as well as Morphogenetic from Fundamental Bass Intelligence. Including the original version between Unique and Prototype, and 2 remixes, one by Morphogenetic and one by Prototype himself. The latter would make it to number one on the now defunct "Streetsounds Electro Charts", and gave the artists a wide level of exposure, especially given the popularity of the label.

2010 continued to be a very lucrative year for the label, receiving plaudits from all corners of the scene with praise for the label's great efforts in becoming a solid Electro imprint. Releases included The Freek Macheen at his very starts, rising star Pip Williams, Dwellz Rawkz from Devine Disorder, Spanish sensation Robert Cosmic, old school Techno legend Dez Williams, along with Drumatix Six and some follow up releases from Prototype, which included the epic "Stimme der Energie" remixes album and featured works by the above named artists that had signed to the label within the first months of operation.
