American artist Introspekt (@sageintrospekt) has a sound rooted in the darker side of UKG but comes at it from a unique perspective that incorporates elements of US garage and ballroom. The LA-born, NYC-based talent has now made her mark in Europe as a DJ and a producer on labels like Eris Drew and Octo Octa's T4T LUV NRG. Her style blends heavy basslines, diva vocals and well-crafted broken beats into something that harks back to the sounds that once came out of the likes of Paradise Garage and Club Zanzibar, always with a focus on bringing up her own community.

She says that the idea behind this week's mix was "to take the listener on a journey through tech-garage sonics and intergalactic dancehall rhythms." Tracks of her own and those from Skream, Holloway, Hatcha, Phuturistix and many more all plot a line through earth-shatteringly heavy rhythms from across the past, present and future of garage, dubstep and bass. It's a mix aimed at both body and head from this formidable talent and is a great taste of what to expect from her when she plays Dekmantel Festival later in the year.

Memories of old Geary Ave, 500 Keele, the grotto, and community radio rebound through these blends, solidifying her place as one of the Toronto underground’s biggest exports of the past half decade-plus. Fresh from Stochastic Drift, Barker’s buzzing second album named Bleep Record of the Month alongside an exclusive 12”, Barker sends a mix that really digs deep into the unique sonic methodology he has constructed across his solo career width a suitable breadth for what is also a milestone in the series, Bleep Mix #300.

From Debiasing to Utility to Stochastic Drift, Barker has been reimagining club music without its definitive thump, instead driven by melody and tactile synthesis, and this selection of tracks expands Barker’s soundworld with a host of artists walking a similar path. “For this mix, I picked out some of my favourite uptempo ambient tracks, recorded at home with two decks and a mixer. It’s music I've used in a lot of different contexts, as a DJ and listener, and I hope you enjoy it.”

Though the occasional dancefloor thump makes itself known, such as on Adriana Lopez’ ‘What Lies Behind’, it’s mostly in quaking subs rather than actual four to the floor, providing some ground for this mix’s airy freeform variety to fly over. We have the wooden plunks and seaspray of Afefe Iku’s Kenyan island sound, the wonky gamelan of Tyler Friedman’s maze of bells and chimes, the dense atmosphere of shaker-produced rain and electrical chirps forged deep in the ruins of The Future Sound Of London.

The midsection of this mix contains some magic in particular: the maestro of drumless trance Lorenzo Senni creates motion from pure jagged synth energy on ‘The Power of Failing’, dissolving into the aether of an unreleased Barker track, which further discharges into the kaleidoscopic stutters of Caribou’s ‘Never Come Back’ with jubilant piano chords and vocal clips wrought into a glitchy, swirling maelstrom of Koreless' prickly warmth. Digital Justice’s ‘Theme From It’s All Gone Pearshaped’ follows, a timeless staple for anyone wishing to dabble in melodic motion and synthsmithery, or any DJ set seeking to add some lift without losing momentum, of which this mix is in no short supply.

I’m sharing my set from @nowadaysnyc from February, closing out the Sunday evening of the Nonstop party after Ayesha's crazy set. This was one of my favourite moments DJing ever I think. Pure synergy in one of my favourite places to play in the world.

Theres a load of genre hopping over the four hours but everything felt quite natural and seamless, taking things from peak time bass music down to a soft house music landing with a few twists and turns along the way.

Under the Priori (@priori-ties) moniker, Québecois musician Francis Latreille has established himself as a crucial voice in underground techno — as a producer, DJ, and live artist. Across a sprawling discography that includes four full-length albums, several EPs, and a host of collaborative projects, he has crafted a sound that is richly textured and genre-defying.

Priori’s work spans the full spectrum of techno, from introspective and meditative passages to driving, dancefloor-oriented momentum. His productions blend elements of ambient, dub, IDM, and tech house, navigating fluidly between nature and technology with a signature sense of unresolved tension. Fractal-like rhythms, crystalline textures, and meticulous sound design define his sonic world — intricate, vibrant, and emotionally resonant.

Beyond his solo output, Priori is also an accomplished mixing engineer, having collaborated with artists such as james K, Bambii, Maara, Ex-Terrestrial, Roza Terenzi, and D.Tiffany. As a co-founder of both NAFF and Jump Source Studio, his influence continues to shape the contours of underground electronic music across Canada and Europe.

"little sounds in huge expansive spaces"

This mix was my musical extrapolation of this quote. As I put together the tracks in the mix, the idea of small sounds in big spaces became more metaphysical, as a metaphor for memory and nostalgia. Small, seemingly insignificant events in our past can expand in significance over time, informed by our experiences later on in life, and with our emotions acting as a tool of reverberation, extending their presence in our lives far past their time of occurrence. What begun as a process of selecting tracks that quite literally feature "small sounds in big spaces" soon morphed into a dig into my distant past, to nearly 20 years ago when I first started learning to DJ. I pulled from the mnml tracks that had an important influence on my formative years, their impact can still be heard in the contemporary tracks I play today, all of them bouncing next to each other in this nearly 2hr musical collage.
